AND HEAT PUMP EQUIPMENT
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS INDOOR BLOWER CONTROL KIT (LB-58773DA) USED
WITH HS11, HS14, HP11, HP14 AND HP21 SERIES UNITS
I-SHIPPING AND PACKING LIST
Package I of I contains:
1- Blower control relay (K117)
1- Bag assembly containing:
4-wires
4-wire ties
6-wire nuts
Wires with pigtail leads and 1/4" quick connect terminals
are supplied with kit to provide connections fromkil relay
to unit.
II-APPUCATION
Indoor blower control kit (LB-58773DA) is used to pro-
vide the option of varying indoor blower speeds during
compressor operation, This option is especially impor-
tant in locations with high humidity. The indoor blower
speed control kit provides use of alower indoor speed
dining continuous fen or low speed compressor opera-
tlon, Increasing the effectiveness of humidity removal. A
I'dgherIndoor blower speed which satisfies cfm require-
merits can then be selected for use during high speed
compressor operation.
Ill-INSTALLATION
1- Turn off electrical power at indoor unit disconnect
switch.
2- Use 7/8" knockout to make a mounting hole in the
control box near the existing blower motor relay.
3- Remove nut horn beck of relay, insert wires through
knockout and tighten mounting nuts so tYmtrelay
stays securely in place.
4- Continue with wiring section.
IV-WIRING
NOTE-Figure I shows new Lennox thermostat nomen-
clature versusthe old nomenclature. See figures 2, 3,4, 6
and 8for HS11 and HS14 applications and figures 5, 7
and 9 for HP11, HP14 and HP21 applications.

HS11/HS14 Units-Use wire nut to attach one blue relay
coil lead to black wire runningfromY2 of room thermostat
to Y2 of condensing unit. Second blue relay coil lead
should be pigtailed into yellow common lead from T ter-
minal on condensing unit. See figures 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8.

HP11/HP14/HP21 Units-Use wire nutto splice blue relay
coil leads intowire from terminal M2 of room thermostat.
See figures 5, 7and 9.
B-High Voltage Wirlng-ll_/pical Gas Unit Match-up
1- Run wire fl'omcommon terminal of kit control to door
interlock switch of unit.
2- Run wire from normally closed terminal of kit relay to
teffnlnal 1 of existing indoor biower relay.
3- Use ctm tables In Lennox engineering handbook to
select a speed tap connection for wire from terminal
3 of existing indoor blower relay. This will be the in-
door blower speed for continuous indoor fan opera-
tion end blower speed d_ing low speed compressor
operation.
NOTE-For most effective humidity control, lowest p_s-
slble indoor blower speed should be selected for low
speed compressor operation.
4- Use cfrn tables in Lennox engineering handbook to
select a speed tap connection for wire fromnormally
open contact of kit relay. This will be the Indoor blow-
er speed during high speed compressor operation.
5- Replace access panels and restore electrical power
to unit.
C-High Voltage Wiring - "P/pical Gas Unit with
BCC2 Blower Control
1- Disconnect black blower motor lead wire from termi-
nal "A"of BCC2 board.
2- Runred wire from common terminal of kit relay to ter-
minal",_' of BCC2 control.
3- Cut the quick connect terminal from black blower
motor lead wire, strip it 5/8" and connect it to the
black wire from the normally open terminal of kit relay
using a wire nut. This will be the indoor blower speed
dudng high speed compressor operation.
4- Connect yellow wire (provided) from normally closed
terminal of kit relay to terminal 4, 5, or 6of jack J43
on blower motor. This will be in the indoor blower
speed for low speed compressor operation. Contin-
uous blower speed may be at a different speed. See
figure 3.
NOTE-For most effective humidity control, lowest pos.
slble Indoor blower speed should be selected for low
speed compressor operation.
5- Replace access panels and restore electrical power
to unit.
D-High Voltage Whlng-'lyplcal Electric Heat
Match-up
WI_ for units matched with
CB/CBS18-21 through -51-3P and
CB/CBH19-1P/-2P blower coU units
1- Disconnect wires from terminal 4 and connect therrn
to te_Tninal3 of the existing Indoor blower relay.
2- Disconnect blower motor lead wire from terminal 2
and connect it to terminal 5 of the existing Indoor
blower relay.
3- Disconnect wire from terminal I and connect itto ter-
minal 2 of the existing Indoor blower relay.
4- Connect red wire fromcommon terminal of kit control
relay to terminal 1 of existing indoor blower relay.
5- Connect yellow wire from normally closed terminal
of kit relay to terminal 4 of existing indoor blower
relay.
6- Use CFM table inthe Lennox engineering handbook
to select a speed and blower motor lead wire to con-
nect to terminal 6 of the existing indoor blower relay.
This will be the Indoor blower speed for continuous
indoor fan operation and blower speed during low
speed compressor operation.
NOTE-For most effective humidity control, lowest pos-
sible indoor blower speed should be selected for low
speed compressor operation,
7- Use CFM tables in LennoxEngineering Handbook to
select a speed tap connection for black wire from the
normally open contact of the kit relay. This will be the
indoor blower speed during hLghspeed compressor
operation.
8- Replace access panels and restore electrical power
to unit.
W',rlng for units matched with
CB/CBS18-65-3P blower coils units
1- Remove and discard the red wire from the common
terminal of the kit relay,
2- Disconnect wires from terminal 3 of existing indoor
blower relay and connect them to the common termi-
nal of the kit relay.
3- Connect yellow wire form normally closed terminal
of kit relay to terminal 3 of the existing indoor blower
relay.
4- Use CFM table in the Lennox engineering handbook
to select a speed and blower motor lead wire to con-
nect to terminal 6 of the existing indoor blower relay.
This will be the indoor blower speed for continuous
Indoor fan operation and blower speed during low
speed compressor operalion.
NOTE-For most effective humidity control, lowest pos-
sible indoor blower speed should be selected for low
speed compressor operation.
Page 2
5- UseCFMtablesInLennoxengineeringhandbookto
select a speed tap connection for black wire fromthe
normally open contact of the kit relay. This will be the
Indoor blower speed during high speed compressor
operation.
