How to Use Hi-Speed USB Drive
To use Hi-Speed USB Drive, all you need to do is to connect the product to a USB port of
your PC; you don’t need to restart your computer, as it automatically detect and identify
this drive (Windows ME, 2000, XP and versions above these support USB-based mass
storage devices). You have to install a driver whenever your operating system is Windows
98.
A. Connecting Hi-Speed USB Drive
After you plugged Hi-Speed USB Drive into your PC, Windows automatically creates a
letter for your drive and indicates that it is a removable drive. Then, you may begin using
the drive just like you use the other drives or floppy disk drive.
LG USB Drive
After you correctly plug Hi-Speed USB Drive in, the ”removing hardware safely” icon
appears in the tool bar at the bottom of the window.
B. Reading / Writing Data or Files
Hi-Speed USB Drive is a light, thin, and small portable storage device. With functions similar
to those of a hard disk, it allows you to read, write, copy or delete any data or file. But, unlike
a hard disk, Hi-Speed USB Drive is so small that you can bring it with you wherever you go.
C. Removing Hi-Speed USB Drive
Warning!
Don’t pull out Hi-Speed USB Drive or remove it from the system while the write /
read indicator is flashing. You should do this only when the indicator is off. Under
a Window ME or Windows 2000 operating system, you should perform a safe
procedure for removal of device before you remove the Hi-Speed USB Drive. If
you pull it out or make it exit before it stops, damage may be done to your
computer or data stored on your computer may get lost.
After you finished using Hi-Speed USB Drive, you may pull it out. However, under Windows
ME、Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you have to perform a safe procedure for removal of device
before you remove the Hi-Speed USB Drive. Find a “safe removal of device” icon in the tool bar
at the bottom of the window and carry out the safe removal procedure.
LG USB Drive
Double click on the ”removing hardware safely” icon on the right hand side of the tool bar
to bring a ”removing hardware safely” window. To remove a device safely, select the device
you want to remove and then click on the Stop button.
After you safely remove the device, a message will appear above the tool bar to inform you
that USB Mass Storage Device is safely removed”, then you may remove the device from
the USB port with ease.

Important Matters
While using Hi-Speed USB Drive and a secure privacy application of DiskSafe, you should
use only one Hi-Speed USB Drive product on each occasion, and you should not use
two Hi-Speed USB Drive products or more simultaneously.
For Windows 2000 Users’ Attention
Since Windows 2000 supports one removable drive only, to use Hi-Speed USB Drive, you
have to install the updating software, that is, Windows Service Pack 3 or a later version
to ensure that you will see the two sectors you created, that is, the secure privacy zone
and public use zone simultaneously while you are using a secure privacy application of
DiskSafe.

LG USB Drive
6. What computers can use Hi-Speed USB Drive?
You can use Hi-Speed USB Drive, provided that you computer is equipped with a USB slot.
(After 1997, computers are mostly equipped with USB slots, and a USB slot is indispensable
to a computer in recent years.)
7. Why the operating temperature of the Hi-Speed USB Drive I purchased is particularly
high?
The Hi-Speed USB Drive you purchased must be of the latest model, i.e.USB2.0 compliant.
The transmission speed of USB2.0 compliant Hi-Speed USB Drive is 40 times that of
USB1.1 compliant Hi-Speed USB Drive, thus the operating temperature of the former is
greater than that of the latter. Hence, the Hi-Speed USB Drive you purchased is functioning
normally.
