If you want to play the excellent bass sound, DTS digitalsurround or Dolby Digital surround, you should connect asubwoofer.•Front speakersAccording to your listening position set up the speakers forequal distance. And by hearing position set up the intervalbetween speakers to 45 degree.•Centre speakerThe centre speakers and front speakers are ideally the sameheight. But normally place it above or below the television.•Rear speakersPlace left and right behind the listening area. These speakersrecreate sound motion and atmosphere required for surroundsound playback. For best results, do not install the rear speak-ers too far behind the listening position and install them at orabove the level of the listener’s ears. It is also effective to directthe rear speakers towards a wall or ceiling to further dispersethe sound. In the case of a smaller room size, if the audience is near to therear wall set the rear speakers opposite each other, and set therear speakers above 60 - 90 cm than the listener’s ears.•SubwooferThis can be placed in any front position.Centre SpeakerFront Speaker(Left)Speaker Positioning ExampleRear Speaker(Left)Rear Speaker(Right)Front Speaker(Right)Subwoofer

If you play DVDs with “” mark, you canenjoy even better sound quality, greater spatial accuracy, andimproved dynamic range. Use this mode when playing movie or Dolby Digital 2 channelwhich carries the “” mark. This mode provides the effectof being in a movie theatre or live concert house-an effect withan intensity which can only be obtained through DOLBY PROLOGIC SURROUND. The effect of the front/back/left/rightmovement of the sound image, as well as the sense of fixedposition in the sound image, is much clearer and more dynam-ic than before.3D SURROUNDThis unit can produce a 3D Surround effect, using 3D SurroundSound technology, which simulates multi-channel audio play-back from two conventional stereo speakers instead of the fiveor more speakers normally required to listen to multi-channelaudio from a home theatre. This feature works with DVD discsencoded with Dolby Pro Logic and Dolby Digital audio tracks.BYPASS (2CH STEREO)Outputs the sound from the front left and right speakers and sub-woofer. Standard two channel (stereo) sources completely bypassthe sound field processing. This allows you to play any sourceusing only the front left and right speakers and subwoofer.

We callfiles that have the “.mp3” file extension “MP3 files”.The DVD+Hi-Fi VCR can not read an MP3 file thathas a file extension other than “.mp3”.MP3 Disc compatibility with this receiver islimited as follows:1. Sampling Frequency / only at 44.1kHz 2. Bit rate / within 32 - 320kbps 3. CD-R physical format should be “ISO 9660”4. If you record MP3 files using the software whichcannot create a FILE SYSTEM, for example “Direct-CD” etc., it is impossible to playback MP3 files. Werecommend that you use “Easy-CD Creator”, whichcreates an ISO9660 file system.5. A single session disc requires MP3 files in the firsttrack. If there is no MP3 file in the 1st track, it can-not playback MP3 files. If you wish to playback MP3files, format all the data in the disc or use a newone.6. File names should be named using 8 letters or lessand must incorporate “.mp3” extension e.g. “********.MP3”. 7. Do not use special letters such as “/ : * ? “ < > ” etc.8. Total number of files on the disc should be less than650.This DVD+Hi-Fi VCR requires discs/recordings to meetcertain technical standards in order to achieve optimalplayback quality. Pre-recorded DVDs are automaticallyset to these standards. There are many different typesof recordable disc formats (including CD-R containingMP3 files). That require certain pre-existing conditions(see above) to insure compatible playback.Customers should also note that permission isrequired in order to download MP3 files and musicfrom the Internet.
