Since the phone operateson Cellular, PCS and AMPS, the call fail rate is less than on aconventional dual-mode or singlemode phone.CDMA technology uses a feature called DSSS (Direct SequenceSpread Spectrum) that enables the phone to keepcommunication from being crossed and to use one frequencychannel by multiple users in the same specific area. This resultsin a 10-fold capacity increase when compared with analogmode. In addition, features such as soft / softer handoff, hardHandoff, and dynamic RF power control technologies combineto reduce call interruptions.*BX4170-(Eng).QXD 04/4/30 7:28 PM Page 8
