Plug your video camera into your computer to install FlipShare software and setup wireless sharing features. (For instructions on installing FlipShare, see User Guide.) 2. Follow prompts in the FlipShare installation to: a. Add your email and phone contacts b. Link to your social networking accounts (e.g. Facebook) c. Authenticate your Flipshare.com sharing account d. Setup your wireless network(s) PANEL 2 LIVE STREAMING (Note: if you have not yet setup your wireless network in FlipShare, please do so before attempting Live Streaming.) PANEL 3 VISUALS Connect • Press (sharing button image) to enable wireless sharing • Press + and – to choose a wireless network, if one is not automatically selected follow steps from “Network Setup” Select • Press < and > to select Live Streaming • Press + and – to select a sharing recipient such as email address, social media site, or FlipShare.com Share • Press (red record button) to begin recording video and streaming live to your video recipient • Press (red record button) to stop recording and end live streaming session INSTANT SHARE (Note: if you have not yet setup your wireless network in FlipShare, please do so before attempting Instant Share.) Connect • Press (sharing button image) to enable wireless instant share • Press + and – to choose a wireless network, if one is not automatically selected follow steps from “Network Setup” Select • Press < and > to select Instant Share • Press < and > to view previous/next video to select which video you would like to share Press + and – to select a sharing recipient such as an email address, • Draft: 10/25/2010 PANEL 4 social media site or Flipshare.com Share • Press (play button) to begin the Instant Share upload NETWORK SETUP Press and hold the (share button) and (red record button) at the same time to enter network setup. To add a new network (network name is visible): Press + or – to select the network name from the list • Press the <, >, +, - to select letters from the onscreen keyboard, if a network password is required • Press (play button) to log onto the network To add a new network (network name does not appear): • Press the (share button) to enter the network name • Press the <, >, +, - to select letters from the onscreen keyboard to enter the network name • Press + or – to select the type of network password required • Press the <, >, +, - to select letters from the onscreen keyboard, if a network password is required • Press (play button) to log onto the network PANEL 1 PANEL 2 MINOHD USER GUIDE Get Started Welcome to Flip MinoHD™ 1 Press power button to turn on. Video camera settings appear automatically when you first power on. Note: Video camera is shipped with a partially charged battery. If battery is not charged, simply follow the steps in the Recharge Battery section. Set Language • Use + - to select your language. Set Date • Use + - to adjust the current setting. • Use < > to select month/day/year. Set Time • Use + - to adjust the current setting. • Use < > to select hour/minute/am/pm. Tones • Use < > to turn the tones on and off. Draft: 10/25/2010 Recording Light • Use < > to turn the recording light on and off. To Return to Video Camera Setup Later Starting with the video camera OFF: 1 Press power button to turn on. 2 When Flip Video logo appears, press and hold record button until Select a Language appears. PANEL 3 Record and Play Touch-Sensitive Buttons Gently touch lighted icons with your finger to activate the controls on the back panel. Record Videos 1 Press to start/stop recording. 2 Press and hold + - to zoom in/out during recording. Play Videos 1 Press to play/pause. Press and hold to play all videos. 2 Press and hold + - to increase/decrease volume. 3 Press < > to view previous/next video. Note: Press and hold < > during playback to rewind/fast-forward. Deleting Videos 1 Press button. Select YES to confirm. Note: Delete button is locked when you first power on. To unlock, press and hold delete button. PANEL 4 Connect to Computer 1 Slide USB latch down. USB arm flips up automatically. 2 Connect USB arm to computer’s USB port. 3 The battery pack will begin recharging and you can install FlipShare™ software on your computer. Recharge Battery 1 Slide USB latch down. USB arm flips up automatically. 2 Connect USB arm to computer’s USB port. 3 Recording light turns on to indicate charging. When charged, the recording light turns off. • The video camera uses a sealed, rechargeable battery. • Fully recharging the battery takes about three hours. • The video camera may remain connected to your computer after it is fully Draft: 10/25/2010 charged, but disconnecting it will help preserve the battery pack’s lifespan and performance. • The optional Flip Video Power Adapter can charge the battery in about two hours. Note: Your computer must be powered on for your video camera to charge. PANEL 5 Organize, Create and Share FLIPSHARE logo Pre-loaded FlipShare software makes editing and sharing your videos easy. Just plug in your video camera, open FLIPVIDEO and launch Setup FlipShare (PC) or Start FlipShare (Mac). FlipShare Features • Save videos to your computer. • Organize your videos. • Create custom movies • Capture snapshots • Share your videos via email or Flip Channels, or upload directly to: Facebook™ (logo) MySpace™ (logo) Twitter™ (logo) YouTube™ (logo) Visit the FlipShare software HELP section for detailed instructions on all features. PANEL 6 View On HD Television 1 Power off video camera and television. 2 Connect video camera to television with optional HDMI™ Cable from Flip Video (available at www.theflip.com/accessories). 3 Power on video camera and television. • Video camera screen turns off when connected to television. 4 Switch your television to the appropriate VIDEO input. • See television manual for instructions. 5 Touch play button to start/pause playback. HDMI Cable Note: You can use any brand of HDMI Cable that has an HDMI Connector (for the TV) on one end and an HDMI Mini Connector (for the video camera) on the other end. Built-in wide-range microphone is also located here. 5 Slide down to release USB arm. 6 Connect to a PC or Mac USB port. 7 Connect HDMI cable accessory to your HDTV.
