Start Here.
Here’s how to use the eX-10
with your iPod® and Bluetooth phone.
Ready, set, go.
eX-10 in-car setup is quick and easy. First, place the display on the
dashboard in your field of vision. Then plug the power supply unit into
the cigarette lighter. Finally use the supplied Full Speed cable to connect the eX-10 to your iPod®.
Set a frequency.
The eX-10 broadcasts audio to your car stereo just like an FM radio station.Tune to an
FM frequency on your radio where there is no radio station reception. Set the same
frequency on the eX-10 from ‘Transmitter’ in thesetup menu. Then, set the type of
audio output required. Access the setup menuand select ‘General’ and then ‘Output
Mode’. Select ‘Transmitter’ or ‘WireTransmitter’ depending on which method you
would like to use. Select ‘Wire Transmitter’ when you use FM switching box.
Choose your language.
Access the main menu via the SETUP switch on the remote control
and select ‘General’ and then ‘Language’. Select the language you
want to use for your song information.
Listen to your iPod® music.
Use the SEARCH button on your remote control to access your
search options. You can search by songs, artists, albums, playlists,
podcasts, audiobooks, composers and genres. When you find the
song you want, press ENTER and the song will start to play through
your car speakers.
See what’s playing.
You can select three display modes by pushing the VIEW button on
your remote. The first is the standard view, which shows the song,
artist and album, and a small picture of the album artwork. The second shows the song name and an enlarged view of the artwork. The
third shows the song, artist and album names with no artwork.
Get the best sound.
You can pick one of ten equalizer presets for great sound with any
type of music. First select ‘Audio’ from the setup menu, then use the
LIST switch to select the desired EQ setting.
Place the microphone.
Secure the microphone in a convenient location in front of you so it
will pick up the sound of your voice. For example, on a pillar or on the
dashboard. Do not install the microphone in any position that could
interfere with the functionality of airbags in your vehicle. Consult your
local car dealer for more information.
Pair your Bluetooth phone.
Ready your Bluetooth enabled phone for pairing. Select ‘Pairing
Mode’ in the ‘Bluetooth’ menu, then search for the connection device
from your Bluetooth phone and enter the PIN code displayed on the
eX-10. When pairing is complete, ‘Paired’ will be displayed on the
eX-10. Next, complete the connection settings from your Bluetooth
phone. When connection is complete, ‘Connected’ will be displayed
on the eX-10.
Turn auto connection on.
To make the eX-10 automatically connect your phone when you enter
your car, turn on the automatic connection function. To do that, go to
the ‘Bluetooth’ menu and set ‘Auto Connect’ to ‘On’.

Making a call from your phonebook.
Press the CALL icon button and use the LIST switch to select
‘Phonebook’ by pressing the ENTER button; then use the LIST switch
to find the phone number you want. Press the CALL icon button to
dial the number.

Other ways of making a call.
First, press the CALL button and use the LIST switch to select lists of
dialed calls, received calls and missed calls. You can select numbers
from those lists and press the CALL icon button to dial them.

Answering a call.
When a call comes in, the ring tone will sound and the phone number
will be displayed. Press the CALL icon button and the call will start.
Alternatively, you can set ‘Auto Answer’ to have the phone answer
calls automatically.

Listen to songs from your phone.
Press the SOURCE button to select ‘Bluetooth Audio’ mode.
Use the LIST switch to change tracks. To pause playback, press the
PLAY/PAUSE button.

Match your dashboard.
In the ‘Display’ menu, choose ‘BGV Select’ to select from among
three BGV Select to match the color of your dashboard.
