Specific Absorption Rate information This mobile device meets the government’s requirements for exposure to radio waves. Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and manufactured not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the U.S. Government, Industry Canada of the Canadian Government(IC), recommended by The Council of the European Union when used as directed in the previous section. The exposure standard for mobile devices employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC/IC is 1.6W/kg averaged over 1 grams of tissue. The India SAR limit for mobile devices is 1.6 W/kg averaged over 1 grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Before a mobile device is available for sale to the public, it must be tested and certified to the FCC, IC, and the Council of the European Union that it does not exceed the limit established by government-adopted requirement for safe exposure under the recommendations of the international Commission on Non-lonizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). The tests are performed in positions and locations (for example, at the head and worn on the body) as required by the FCC, IC, and the Council of the European Union for each model. The highest SAR value for your Lenovo device when tested for use at the head and body is outlined as follows: Position The highest SAR value Head 1.25 Body-worn 1.34 Regulation FCC 1g SAR Limit(1.6W/kg) During use, the actual SAR values for this device are usually well below the values stated above. This is because, for purposes of system efficiency and to minimize interference on the network, the operating power of your mobile devices is automatically decreased when full power is not needed for the call. The lower the power output of the device, the lower its SAR value. During SAR testing, this device was set to transmit at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands, and placed in positions that simulate RF exposure in usage against the head with no separation, and near the body with the separation of 10 mm.
