When examining your new BeilSouth cordless telephone, you will find an array of spe-
cial teatures including:
Filtered Sound" System - Gets considerably less noise than conventional cordless
telephones because of a special circuit which delivers the clearest possible
reception.
40 Channel Autoscan - Press the button on the HANDSET to find and lock on
to the clearest channel for any call.
Dual keypads - Send or receive calls on either the HANDSET or the BASE UNIT.
Hands Free Speakerphone - Use the BASE UNIT as a speakerphone and adjust the
volume to suit your needs,
Telephone Number Storage - Stores up to 10 frequently called numbers on the
HANDSET and 10 diiferent numbers on the BASE UNIT,
Desk or Wall Mount - Use this equipment as a desk phone or as a trail phone.
To'ne or Pulse Dialing - Use this phone for either tone or push—button pulse (rotary)
dialing.
Two Way Intercom - Place and receive calls from both HANDSET and BASE UNIT.
Automated Functions - Redial the last number called. speed dial to numbers
and automatic STANDBY.
Security - Ensures greater privacy because a built-in security code with 65,536 combi-
nau’ons prevents use of your telephone line by another nearby cordless phone.
Dependable Battery — Recharge your battery pack many times with the built—in charger.
The battery low warning tone tells you when the battery pack needs recharging.

Special Services - Use the button to access special services such as Call
Waiting supplied by your telephone company or company switchboard.
STANDBY Mode - When in STANDBY mode, the phone is capable 01 receiving a call
(ON HOOK). When the HANDSET is on the BASE UNIT, it is automatically in the
STANDBY mode (ON HOOK). When the HANDSET is taken off the BASE UNIT it
remains in the STANDBY mode until you activate the w button.
Battery Power Saver - Once fully charged, in STANDBY mode and with the RINGER
SWITCH in the “ON" position, the HANDSET can receive/send calls for a maximum
of five days without the need of recharging. depending on frequency at use.
HANDSET Volume Control Switch - Select the volume level (HI, MID. LOW).
Headset Jack - Your telephone can utilize a headset hr hands-free communication.
Belt Clip — Use the Belt Clip to hang your HANDSET to your belt.

Read and understand all instructions.
Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product,
Unplug this product trorn the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid
cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
Do not use this product near water, for example, near a bath tub. wash bowl,
kitchen sink, or laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool.
Do not place this product on an unstable cart. stand. or table. The product
may tall, causing serious damage to the product.
Slots and openings in the cabinet and the back or bottom are provided for
ventilation, to protect it from overheating. These openings must not be
blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the
product on the bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This product should
never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register. This product should
not be placed in a built-in installation unless properventitation is provided.
This product should be operated only from the type of power source
indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type at power
supply to your home, consult your dealer or local power company.
Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate this product
where people will walk on the cord.
Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords. This can increase the
risk of fire or electric shock,
Never push objects of any kind through slots in the product. They could
touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in a risk
of fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not take this product apart. When
service or repairwork is required on this product, take it to a qualified
service representative, Opening or removing covers may expose you to
dangerous voltage or other risks, Incorrect reassembly can cause electric
shock when the appliance is used.
Unplug this product from the wall outlet and consult a qualified service

2. Do not dispose of the battery pack in a fire. It may explode. Check with local
codes for possible special disposal instructions. ,
3. Do not open or mutilate the battery pack. Released electrolyte is corrosive
and may cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed.
4. Exercise care in handling the battery pack to prevent shorting the battery
with conductive materials such as rings, bracelets and keys. The battery
pack or conductor may overheat and cause burns.
5. Charge the battery pack provided with or identified for use with this product only
in accordance with the instructions and limitations specified in this manual.
6. Observe proper polarity orientation between the battery pack and battery
charger.

The product that you have purchased contains a rechargeable battery pack. The
battery pack is recyclable. At the end of its useful lite under various States and
local laws, it may be illegal to dispose of this battery pack into the municipal waste
stream. Check with your local solid waste officials for details in your area for

1. Scan Button: Press to changethe operating channel when you hear
interference.
2. Redial/Pause (re/pa) Button: REDIAL - Press to redial the last telephone
number you called, PAUSE — Press to insert a pause while dialing. (You will
need the button to dial numbers which use an alternative long
distance access code.
1 In Use/Batt Low Indicator: Lights up when the HANDSET is in TALK
mode. Blinks slowly to indicate that the Intercom function is in use. Blinks
when battery power is low. (See page 19 for detail.)
4. Memo Button: Press to store 10 phone numbers (up to 16 digits each) in
memory or to calla number you have previously stored in the 10 memory
locations,
5. Intcom (INTERCOM) Button: Press to initiate a two-way intercom
conversation between the HANDSET and the BASE UNIT.
6. HANDSET ANTENNA
7. Volume Control (hi, mid, low) Switch: Select the HANDSET speaker
volume level (HI. MID. LOW).
8. Flash Button: Press to answer an incoming call it you have Call Waiting.
9. Headset Jack: For connecting your headset plug to enjoy a hands-free
communication.
10, Talk Button: Press to answer an incoming call 0: to place a call, Press to
end a call.
11. Tone Button: Press to temporarily change the dialing mode from Pulse to
Tone for Rotary Service Users. (Press once before entering numbers to
access the answering system or electronic banking services, etc.)
12. Ringer onlotf Switch: Set switch to OFF position to disengage the ringer
on the HANDSET.
13. Charge Contacts: For charging the battery pack inside the HANDSET, We
recommend cleaning periodically with a damp cloth.

Intcom (INTERCOM) Button: Press to initiate an intercom conversation
between the BASE UNIT and the HAN DSET.

Tone/Pulse Select Switch
Antenna: Raise or reposition for best reception.
In Use Indicator: Lights up when the HANDSET is in use.
Charge Indicator: Lights up to indicate the HANDSET is being charged by
the BASE UNIT. .
Intcom (INTERCOM) Indicator: Lights up when the INTERCOM function is
in use.
Base Volume (UP) Adjustment: Press to increase the volume level of the
BASE UNIT speaker.
Speakerphone Indicator: Blinks rapidly when you initiate an intercom call
or it an intercom call is received. Lights up when the SPEAKERPHONE
function is in use.
Sp-phone (SPEAKERPHONE) Button: Press to place and receive calls
without using the HAN DSET.
Base Volume (DOWN) Adjustment: Press to decrease the volume level of
the BASE UNIT speaker.
