Components Tip! A. eQuil Smartpen 2 1. When the Pen tip 6 is pushed over a minute, the Pen power turns off to save the battery life. In that case, push the Pen power button 7 once to turn the Pen on. 2. The LED 1 blinks when the Receiver battery is weak. 3. You need to charge the Pen when the LED 8 keeps blinking. 4. Lights on the Power LED 1 and Digital pen LED 8 are on when charging. When it is completely charged, the lights are off. 5. You can do pen refilling by using the Pen lead ejector 13 . B. Ready to Use Make sure to fully charge the eQuil Smartpen 2 before use (How to charge: place both the Pen and the Receiver into the Cradle and connect the Charging socket 12 with the Charging cable (B)). Make sure the button is switched towards iOS side when using Bluetooth on iPhone/ iPad/ iPod, and Others side when using Macbooks or PCs. How to Use 12 When you wish to pair your device through Bluetooth for the first time, refer to the page on the left to connect. Once paired, the eQuil Smartpen 2 and your device are automatically connected as soon as the Receiver is on. Try to pair again on your setting when pairing is not automatically done. (only if you use 1 device. If 2 or more, refer to the ‘Notice!’ ) 2. Bluetooth Pairing Click the Receiver power button 4 to completely turn off the power. Make sure the power is off, keep holding the Receiver power button 4 , and wait until the blue Bluetooth LED 2 is blinking fast (approx. 5 times/sec.). Then go to the device that you wish to pair with to find ‘Setting → Bluetooth → Equil-xxxxxx(Individual Serial No.)’ to connect. When pairing is completed, the Bluetooth LED 2 starts to blink slowly (approx. once every 2 sec.) again. settings 1. Place the Receiver on the top of the paper. At the moment the app‘Equil Note’ and ‘Equil Sketch’ are available and there are more to come. If you wish to use the app on Macbook / MacPro / Windows, go to www.myequil.com to download the relevant apps. 3. Make sure the Bluetooth LED on the Receiver is on after running the app. 4. Make sure the LED 8 is blinking (white light) and the Pen tip 6 makes a little ultrasonic sound whenever you press the Pen power button 7 . If you cannot hear the sound, you should check the charging status of the eQuil Smartpen 2. 5. eQuil Smartpen 2 is ready now. Have fun! Caution 1. If the Pen still writes even hovering above the paper, push the Pen power button for over 5 seconds until the Pen LED blinks fast three times. 2. Do not place any obstacles between the Receiver and the device, or the Receiver and the Pen you use. 3. This product was developed using ultrasonic and infrared rays. Therefore, below are environments that can cause malfunctions and you should be avoid: a. Where there is strong metallic sound (e.g. coins) b. Directly underneath air-conditioners/heaters c. Directly underneath strong lights or rays of the sun d. Where humidity is high (e.g. bathroom) 4. Built-in batteries might be totally discharged upon purchase – the cradle & the pen, as a set, needs to be charged. (completely charged within 2 hours; up to 8-hour working time) 5. The ideal temperature range for the product usage is between 10℃ and 40℃. 6. There might be malfunctions when grabbing near the Pen tip 6 . Warranty Equil – 1 year warranty Equil guarantees its hardware products and accessary for their material and technical defaults for a year upon the date of the purchase. Equil does not guarantee general wear-out, any unexpected damages or abuses.
