operation, get acquainted with its controls and features. These are described below and illustrated in
Figure 1. This knowledge will allow you to use your
new equipment to its fullest potential.

Stopping The Engine

Chute Clean-Out Tool

To Engage Augers

Thechute clean-outtool is convenientlyfastenedto the
rear of the augerhousingwith a mountingclip. Should
snowand ice becomelodgedin the chuteassembly
duringoperation,proceedas followsto safelycleanthe
chuteassemblyand chuteopening:
1. Releaseboththe AugerControland the Drive
Control.

1. Toengagethe augersand startthrowingsnow,
squeezethe auger controlagainstthe left handle.
Releaseto stop theaugers.

3. Removethe clean-outtool fromthe clip which
securesit to the rearof the auger housing.

Auger Control Test
Performthe followingtest beforeoperatingyoursnow
throwerfor thefirst time and at the startof eachwinter.
Checkthe adjustmentof the auger controlas follows:
1. Whenthe augercontrol is releasedand in the
disengaged"up" )osition,thecable shouldhavevery
little slack. It shouldNOTbe tight.

4. Use the shovel-shapedend of the clean-outtool to
dislodgeand scoop anysnow and icewhich has
formedin and nearthe chute assembly.

2. Ina well-ventilatedarea,startthe snowthrower
engineas instructedon the previouspage.Make sure
the throttleis set in the FASTposition.

5. Refastenthe clean-outtool to the mountingclip on
the rearof theauger housing,reinsertthe ignitionkey
and startthe snow thrower'sengine.

3. Whilestandingin theoperator'sposition(behindthe
snowthrower),engagethe auger.

2. Stopthe engineby removingthe ignitionkey.

6. Whilestandingin the operator'sposition(behindthe
snowthrower),engagethe augercontrolfor a few
secondsto clearany remainingsnowand ice from the
chuteassembly.

To Engage Drive
With thethrottlecontrol in the Fast(rabbit)position,
moveshift leverintoone of the six forward(F)
positionsor two reverse(R) positions.Selecta speed
appropriatefor the snowconditionsand a paceyou're
comfortablewith.
2. Squeezetheauger controlagainstthe handleand the
augerswill turn. Releaseit and the augerswill stop.
3. Squeezethedrivecontrol againstthehandlethe
snowthrowerwill move.Releaseit and drivemotion
will stop.

4. Allowthe augerto remainengagedfor approximately
ten (10) secondsbeforereleasingthe augercontrol.
Repeatthis severaltimes.
5. With the throttlecontrolin the FAST(rabbit)position
and the augercontrol in the disengaged"up"position,
walk to the front of the machine.
6. Confirmthat the auger hascompletelystopped
rotatingand showsNOsigns of motion.If the auger
showsANYsigns of rotating,immediatelyreturnto
the operator'spositionand shut off the engine.Wait
for ALL movingparts to stop beforere-adjustingthe
auger control.

in accordancewith the Operator'sManualfurnishedwith the product,
and has notbeen subjectto misuse,abuse,commercialuse, neglect,
