Multi Media System Bluetooth function (optional) The Multi Media System is equipped with Bluetooth technology, which allows connecting mobile phones enabled for this technology. Using this connectivity you can handle calls (with the hands-free function) and the telephone phonebook through the Multi Media System. The connection can be made in two ways: 1. Pairing a telephone to the Multi Media System. 2. Connecting a telephone stored in the Multi Media System. The pairing procedure with the Multi Media System must be performed only the first time and only from a compatible mobile phone to the Multi Media System. It is not possible to proceed from the Multi Media System, as this system is not capable of independently performing pairing procedures to Bluetooth sources. When connecting a telephone stored in the Multi Media System, the system will connect a telephone already paired with the same system and the procedure must be performed each time you wish to connect a Bluetooth mobile phone to the Multi Media System (see page 56 “List of connected peripherals”). Unlike the pairing procedure, this operation can be performed from both a mobile phone and from the Multi Media System. Telephone pairing WARNING: Before connecting a mobile phone, it is advisable to read the user’s manual of the mobile phone to be paired with the Multi Media System. To pair a mobile phone with the system, the Bluetooth feature must be active on both the phone and Multi Media System. To set up the Multi Media System for the pairing procedure, proceed as described below: - Check that the Bluetooth feature on the mobile phone is active. To activate the Bluetooth feature on the mobile phone, refer to the instructions provided by the phone manufacturer. - Turn the vehicle key to MAR - Turn on Multi Media System by pressing the knob (20); During the paring stages, the telephone will ask you to enter a PIN code (see page 57 “Authentication code”). If the code entered is correct, the two devices start the connection procedures. Depending on the phonebook synchronization mode set (see page 67 “Phonebook synchronization mode”) the phonebooks stored on the mobile phone will be synchronized or not. Once the connection procedure has been completed, a message on the Multi Media System display informs the user that the devices have been paired. The Multi Media System can store up to 10 paired devices. 63 3 Main Bluetooth page Disconnection Press the MODE button to access the Bluetooth page (see Fig. 80). This page shows the following parameters: A - Telephone connection status B - Telephone service provider C - Name of the paired telephone D - Battery charge status E - Roaming (if active). The Bluetooth feature can be disconnected in three different ways: 1. Disconnecting from the mobile phone, following the operations described in the specific instruction manual, or turning off the phone 2. Through the Multi Media System (see page 56 “List of connected peripherals”; 3. Moving the Bluetooth telephone away from the Multi Media System, so that the telephone signal is outside the reception area of Multi Media System. Disconnection is indicated by a message on the display as shown in Fig. 81. Note: The data displayed depends on the telephone connected. Note: If the texts sent from the telephone contain non-Latin characters (e.g., Chinese, Arabic, Cyrillic characters) the Multi Media System will display them with question marks “?”. Fig. 80 Fig. 81 64 Disconnecting the mobile phone does not delete the call list; if you wish to delete it, proceed as follows: - Press the MENU button (15); - Select the icon and confirm by pressing the knob (13), - Select and confirm, by pressing the knob (13), the “Telephone Functions” option - Select and confirm, by pressing the knob (13), the “Delete call log” option (see Fig. 82). The deletion procedure starts only after confirming a second time. Fig. 82 Turning on the Multi Media System Handling calls Bluetooth-related functions Each time the Multi Media System is turned on and Bluetooth mode is active, the system starts searching for the already paired telephones (contained in the stored list). The search starts from the last telephone paired and then chronologically runs through the previous ones. The search procedure ends when Multi Media System finds an already paired telephone and completes the connection procedure, or when it finds a telephone not yet paired, in which case the telephone must first be paired to complete the connection (see page 53 ”Telephone pairing”), or if it does not find any telephone and does not use the Bluetooth function. Calls can be handled from both the mobile phone and the Multi Media System. Answering or making a call from the telephone, the Multi Media System display will always show the call status. To make a call the from Multi Media System, open the “Call” menu as follows: - press button (4) or (33) or - In Telematics mode, press the RH knob (13) or - In Telematics mode, use the RH knob (13) to select and confirm the “Call” function.
