OCR Option
Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
for Quadrus®MINI Series
Select models of Quadrus MINI and Quadrus MINI Velocity are available with
optional OCR capability. They are the only imagers in their class that can read and
compare traditional 1D and 2D symbols and OCR fonts within the same field of view.
The imagers provide consistent decoding of OCR-A, OCR-B and MICR, with no parameter
adjustments required.

Basic OCR Characteristics
OCR-A, OCR-B and MICR are the most widely used OCR fonts in a variety of industries. In OCR, there is little redundant information in
a character; all of an OCR character must be present to allow recognition. ANSI standards also apply. OCR templates are flexible and
can be configured quickly within software such as Microscan’s ESP®.
