Keypad lock (keyguard)
To lock the keypad in the fold-open mode, press the left
selection key, then . When the keys are locked, is
displayed.
To unlock in the fold-open mode, press the left selection key,

To lock the keypad in the fold-closed mode, press and hold the
camera mode key.
To unlock in the fold-closed mode, press and hold the camera
mode key.
When the keypad lock is on, calls may be possible to the official
emergency number programmed into your device.
To turn on the display light when the keypad lock is on, press
. In the fold-closed mode, press any key, except the zoom
key.
Insert the (U)SIM card and battery
A USIM card is an enhanced version of the SIM card and is
supported by UMTS mobile phones.
Keep all SIM cards out of the reach of small children.
Always switch the device off and disconnect the charger before removing
the battery.
For availability and information on using SIM card services, contact your
SIM card vendor. This may be the service provider or other vendor.
1With the back of the device
facing you, press the release
button (1), slide the cover
(2), and lift it up.
2Insert the USIM card into the
slot. Ensure that the bevelled
corner on the card is inserted
first, and that the contact
area on the card is facing
down.
3Insert the battery. Ensure
that the contacts on the top
of the battery are facing the
connectors on the device.
4To replace the back cover,
position the cover onto the
device, and slide the cover
until it clicks into place.

Switch the device on
1Press and hold .
2If the device asks for a (U)PIN code or
lock code, enter the code (displayed as
****), and press the left selection key.
The UPIN code is usually supplied with
the USIM card. The factory setting for
the lock code is 12345. For more
information on the access codes, see
‘Security’ in the user guide.
Your device has internal antennas.
Note: As with any radio
transmitting device, avoid touching an
antenna unnecessarily when the
antenna is in use. For example, avoid
touching the cellular antenna during a
phone call. Contact with a
transmitting or receiving antenna
affects the quality of the radio
communication, may cause the device
to operate at a higher power level than
otherwise needed, and may reduce the
battery life.
Charge the battery
1Connect a compatible charger to
a wall outlet.
2Connect the power cord to the
device. The device can be used
while charging. If the battery is
completely discharged, it may
take a while before the charging
indicator starts scrolling.
3When the battery is fully charged, the charging indicator
stops scrolling. Disconnect the charger from the device, then
from the wall outlet.
You can also use Nokia Charger Adapter CA-44 to charge the
battery with previous compatible Nokia charger models. For
enhancements, batteries, and chargers, see ‘For your safety’ in
the user guide.
MMS and mobile internet settings
Your Nokia device normally has MMS, GPRS, streaming, and
mobile internet settings automatically configured in the device,
based on your service provider information.

View images and videos on TV
To view the captured video clips and images on a compatible TV,
use a compatible Nokia CA-64U Video-out Cable. See ‘TV out
mode’ and ‘TV configuration’ in the user guide.
To view images and videos on a compatible TV, do the following:
1Connect the compatible video-out cable to the video input
of a compatible TV.
2Connect the other end of the video-out cable to the Pop-
Port™ connector of your device.
3Press , and select Gallery > Images & video and the file
you want to view.
The images are shown in the image viewer, and the videos are
played in RealPlayer.
Displays
Remove any protective plastic films covering the displays.
A small number of missing, discolored, or bright dots may appear
on the screen. This is a characteristic of this type of display.
Some displays may contain pixels or dots that remain on or off.
This is normal, not a fault.
The images in this guide may differ from your device display.
