Web browserWith the Web browser, you can view hypertextmarkup language (HTML) web pages on the internetas originally designed. ConnectionsYour device offers several options to connect to theinternet or to another compatible device or PC.Wireless LANYour device supports wireless local area network(WLAN). With WLAN, you can connect your device tothe internet and compatible devices that haveWLAN.About WLANTo use WLAN, it must be available in the location,and your device must be connected to the WLAN.Some places, like France, have restrictions on theuse of wireless LAN. Check with your localauthorities for more information.Features that use WLAN, or that are allowed to runin the background while using other features,increase the demand on battery power and reducethe battery life.Your device supports the following WLAN features:●IEEE 802.11b/g standard●Operation at 2.4 GHz●Wired equivalent privacy (WEP) with keys up to128 bits, Wi-Fi protected access (WPA), and802.1x encryption methods. If you acceptthe query, the remote device is added to the list ofblocked devices.Remote SIM modeBefore the remote SIM mode can be activated, thetwo devices must be paired and the pairing initiatedfrom the other device. When pairing, use a 16-digitpasscode, and set the other device as authorised.To use the remote SIM mode with a compatible carkit enhancement, activate Bluetooth connectivity,and enable the use of the remote SIM mode withyour device. Activate the remote SIM mode from theother device.When the remote SIM mode is on in your device,Remote SIM mode is displayed in the standbymode. The connection to the wireless network isturned off, as indicated by in the signal strengthindicator area, and you cannot use SIM card servicesor features requiring cellular network coverage.When the wireless device is in the remote SIM mode,you can only use a compatible connectedenhancement, such as a car kit, to make or receivecalls. Digital rights management (DRM) protected contentcomes with an associated activation key thatdefines your rights to use the content.If your device has OMA DRM protected content, toback up both the activation keys and the content,use the backup feature of Nokia Nseries PC Suite.Other transfer methods may not transfer theactivation keys which need to be restored with thecontent for you to be able to continue the use ofOMA DRM-protected content after the devicememory is formatted. You may also need to restorethe activation keys in case the files on your deviceget corrupted.If your device has WMDRM protected content, boththe activation keys and the content will be lost if thedevice memory is formatted. You may also lose theactivation keys and the content in case the files onyour device get corrupted. Losing the activationkeys or the content may limit your ability to use thesame content on your device again. For moreinformation, contact your service provider.Some licences may be connected to a specific SIMcard, and the protected content can be accessedonly if the SIM card is inserted in the device.In the main view, select from the following:●Valid licences — View licences that areconnected to media files or whose validity periodhas not begun.●Invalid licences — View licences that are notvalid; the time period for using the media file isexceeded or there is a protected media file in thedevice but no connected activation key.●Not in use — View licences that have no mediafiles connected to them in the device.To buy more usage time for a media file, select aninvalid licence and Options > Get new licence(web service messages must be enabled). With predictive text, you canenter any letter with a single keypress. Predictivetext input is based on a built-in dictionary to whichyou can add new words.When you write text, is displayed when youwrite text using traditional text input and when using predictive text input.Traditional text inputPress a number key (1–9) repeatedly until thedesired character appears. There are morecharacters available for a number key than areprinted on the key.If the next letter is located on the same key as thepresent one, wait until the cursor appears (or scrollright to end the time-out period), and enter theletter.To insert a space, press 0. The wireless network maylimit the size of MMSmessages. If the insertedpicture exceeds this limit,the device may make itsmaller so that it can besent by MMS.Check the size limit of e-mail messages with yourservice provider. If youattempt to send an e-mailmessage that exceeds thesize limit of the e-mail server, the message is left inthe Outbox folder, and the device attempts toresend it periodically. Sending an e-mail requires adata connection, and continuous attempts toresend the e-mail may increase your phone bill. Inthe Outbox folder, you can delete such a messageor move it to the Drafts folder.1. Select New message > Message to send a textmessage or a multimedia message (MMS), Audiomessage to send an audio message (amultimedia message that includes one soundclip), or E-mail to send an e-mail.2. If you do not want to use the loudspeakerfor the voice call while you share video, you can alsouse a compatible headset.RequirementsVideo sharing requires a UMTS connection. Yourability to use video sharing depends on theavailability of the UMTS network. Contact yourservice provider for more information on the serviceand network availability and fees associated withusing this service.To use video sharing you must do the following:●Ensure that your device is set up for person-to-person connections.●Ensure you have an active UMTS connection andare within UMTS network coverage. If you startthe sharing session while you are within UMTSnetwork coverage and a hand over to GSM occurs,the sharing session is discontinued, but yourvoice call continues. You cannot start videosharing if you are not within UMTS networkcoverage.●Ensure that both the sender and recipient areregistered to the UMTS network. If you invitesomeone to a sharing session and the recipient’sdevice is not within UMTS network coverage,does not have video sharing installed, or person-to-person connections set up, the recipient doesnot know that you are sending an invitation.
