101. Get started■Insert the UIM card and the battery Always switch the device off and disconnect the charger before removing the battery.1. To remove the back cover, with the back of the device facing you, push to slide the back cover toward the bottom of the device.2. Insert your finger into the finger grip, and lift the battery from its compartment.3. Nokia uses approved industry standards for memory cards, but some brands may not be fully compatible with this device. 121. Insert the card into the microSD card slot with the contact surface facing down, push the card until it is into place. 2. Close the back cover.Important: Do not remove the memory card in the middle of an operation when the card is being accessed. Removing the card in the middle of an operation may damage the memory card as well as the device, and data stored on the card may be corrupted.■Charge the batteryWarning: Use only batteries, chargers, and accessories approved by Nokia for use with this particular model. 14Note: As with any radio transmitting device, avoid touching the antenna area unnecessarily while the antenna is transmitting or receiving. Contact with such an antenna affects the communication quality and may cause the device to operate at a higher power level than otherwise needed and may reduce the battery life.■Access codesThe lock code supplied with the device helps to protect your device against unauthorised use. The default code is 1234. You can change the lock code and keep the new code secret and in a safe place separate from your device. If you forget the code and the device is locked, your device will require service. Additional charges may apply, and all the personal data in your device may be deleted. For more information, contact Nokia Care Centre or your device dealer. To change the code, see "Security", p. 52.The PIN code within the UIM card protects the card from unauthorised use.
