Make sure the contact area of the card wouldface down when the SIM card holder is lowered.6 Lower the SIM card holder.7 To lock the SIM card holder, slide the holder to its original position.Important: Do not use a mini-UICC SIM card, also known as a micro-SIM card, a micro-SIM card with an adapter, or a SIM card that has a mini-UICC cutout (see figure) in thisdevice. A micro SIM card is smaller than the standard SIM card. ChargingCharge the batteryYour battery has been partially charged at the factory, but you may need to recharge itbefore you can switch on your phone for the first time.If the phone indicates a low charge, do the following:12You do not need to charge the battery for a specific length of time, and you can use thephone while it is charging.If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the chargingindicator is displayed or before any calls can be made.Tip: You can also use a compatible USB charger to charge your battery.Charge the battery over USBBattery low, but you don't have a charger with you? You can use a compatible USB cableto connect your phone to a compatible device, such as a computer.You can use USB charging when a wall outlet is not available. Data can be transferredwhile charging the device. If your previous Nokia phone does not have the Phone switch application, your newphone sends it in a message using Bluetooth. To install the application, open themessage in your previous phone, and follow the instructions.1 Select the phone you want to connect to, and pair the phones. Use your phone offlineIn places where you do not want to make or receive calls, you may still access yourcalendar, contacts list, and offline games if you activate the offline profile. Switch thephone off when mobile phone use is not allowed or when it may cause interference ordanger.On the home screen, select the profile and Offline.When the offline profile is activated, your connection to the cellular network is closed.All radio frequency signals between the phone and the cellular network are prevented.If you try to send a message, it is placed in the Outbox folder, and is sent only whenanother profile is activated.You can also use your phone without a SIM card. Switch the phone off, and remove theSIM card. When you switch back on, the offline profile is activated.Important: In the offline profile you cannot make or receive any calls, or use otherfeatures that require cellular network coverage. You may be able to call the officialemergency number programmed into your device.To make calls, you must first changeto another profile.When the offline profile is activated, you can still connect to a WLAN to, for example,read your mail or browse the internet. You can also use Bluetooth.Remember to comply with any applicable safety requirements.Prolong battery lifeIf it seems you're always looking for a charger, there are steps you can take to reducethe power consumption of your phone.•Always charge the battery fully.•When power saving mode is activated, phone settings, such as Network mode andthe screen saver, are optimised.Activate power saving modePress the power key , and select Activate power saving. Use your voice to call a contactWith the Voice commands application, you can use your voice to make calls or controlyour phone.Voice commands are not dependent on the speaker’s voice.
