Integration manual for the wireless roast probe system
1 General
This document describes the requirements for the oven when installing the wireless roast probe system.
The wireless roast probe system consists of the electronic (EPI7674), antenna system and the wireless
roast probe. The wireless roast probe will be here not describe because it is a passive device and does
not matter for the installation of the system.
The wireless roast probe system may only be installed due to the identical antenna system in the Miele
& Cie. KG ovens with 36 inch, 30 inch und 70 cm cooking cavity. The certified Module, see picture below,
will only be installed by Grantee Miele.

2 Electronic EPI7674:
2.1 Position of the EPI7674 on the control-/ power electronic of the oven
Picture 2: Position of the EPI
Fixing of the EPI7674 carried out by latching the housing of the control-/ power electronic with a
spacer. For better alignment during assembly, a round plastic dome of the control- / power
electronic is next to the connector tor the antenna cable.
The distance between two electronics is ensured by the housing of the control-/ power
electronic and is approximately 7 mm.
2.2 Interface to the control-/ power electronic
On the control-/ power electronic is a six pin stripe with the following pin assignment
On the EPI is a female connector for the contact with the interface. The power supply (3.3 V DC +/-5 %)
for the EPI comes from constant-voltage source of the control electronic.
2.3 Antenna conector
Jack straight PCB MCX 50 Ohm.
3 Antenna system
The antenna system includes the rod antenna with the coupling plate and the rear wall of the oven. The
rear wall is capacitive coupled to the rod antenna. All together generates the electric field in the cavity
and a certain directivity of the radiation.
