surf the web w ith your smartphone
Your smartphone uses the mobile phone netw ork (over
the air) or a Wi-Fi connection to automatically access the
Web.
Quick start: Browser

Note: Your service provider may charge to surf the Web

If you want to use a Wi-Fi netw ork for faster Internet
access, touch the status bar at the top of the home
screen and drag it dow n. Touch the Wi-Fi net works
available notification to select a preferred netw ork. For
more info, see “ Wi-Fi networks” on page 40.
Note: If you can’t connect, contact your service provider.
Play web videos

The brow ser features the Adobe™ Flash™ Player, w hich
adds animation, video, and interactivity to w eb pages.
Touch
to begin video playback. Double-tap the video
during playback to enlarge it for better view ing.
Downloads
To dow nload files in your brow ser, touch a file link or
touch and hold a picture to choose Save image .
Tip: To zoom, touch the display w ith tw o fingers, then
move them apart.
To see the files you dow nloaded, touch
Downloads. Touch and hold an item to open it,
see details, or remove it from the list.
You can dow nload “ Apps & updates” on page 9.

To add shortcuts for apps, bookmarks, and more to the
home screen, touch and hold an empty spot on the
home screen, touch Shortcuts, and select a shortcut.
Tip: To change one of the dock shortcuts at the bottom
of the home screen, touch and hold the shortcut, then
select the shortcut you w ant to replace it.

Personalize your ringtones:

• To set volume for ringtones, media, and alarms, touch

Turn Wi-Fi power on or off

Note: Your phone’s Wi-Fi features and pow er levels are
not allow ed for outdoor operation in France. To avoid
unlaw ful interference w ith radio signals, do not use the
Wi-Fi features in France unless you are indoors.
3 Touch a netw ork to connect. If necessary,
enter Network SSI D, Security, and Wireless
password, and touch Connect .
When your smartphone is connected to the network,
the Wi-Fi connected indicator
appears in the status
bar.
Tip: When you are in range and Wi-Fi pow er is on, you
w ill automatically reconnect to available netw orks you’ve
connected to before.
Wi-Fi search & connect
When Wi-Fi is turned on, the Wi-Fi in-range indicator
appears in the status bar w hen a netw ork is available.

Tip: To see your smartphone’s M AC address or other

Bluetooth™ handsfree devices
Turn Bluetooth power on or off

> Bluetooth

Reconnect devices
Note: To extend battery life, turn off Bluetooth pow er
w hen not in use.
To automatically reconnect your smartphone w ith a
paired device, simply turn on the device.
Connect new devices
To manually reconnect your smartphone w ith a paired
device, touch the device name in the Bluetooth devices
list.
Note: This feature requires an optional accessory.
To connect w ith a new device, you need to pair w ith it.
You only need to do this once for each device—to
connect again, just turn on the device.
1 M ake sure the device you are pairing w ith is in
discoverable mode.
Disconnect devices
To automatically disconnect your smartphone from a
paired device, simply turn off the device.
To manually disconnect your smartphone from a paired
device, touch the device name in the devices list, then
touch OK.

5 If necessary, touch OK, or enter the device passkey
(like 0000) to connect to the device. When the device

to play or transfer the video, pictures, and music stored
on your smartphone.

network that has another DLNA Certified device.

USB cable.
Note: The first time you use a USB connection, your
computer may indicate that drivers are being installed.
