To turn on your phone,

register & import contacts
The first time you turn on Morrison and register,
MOTOBLUR will sync your contacts—from your SIM
card, email, and social network accounts—into one list.
From then on, MOTOBLUR will keep your contacts
updated. When somebody gets a new number or
updates their status, you’ll know it.
Note: MOTOBLUR registration is secure, and should
only take a few minutes (depending on how many email
or social networking accounts you want to add). For
more, see “your MOTOBLUR account” on page 19.
The first time you turn on Morrison, select your
language (tap Next), then read the Welcome (tap Next).
To create your MOTOBLUR account, choose Register a
new account and enter the info.
If you already created a MOTOBLUR account,
choose Use an existing account and enter your info.

After you register, you
can add your Facebook,
MySpace, Twitter, or other
accounts. Your phone
downloads your friends
and contacts when you
sign in.
Note: If you don’t have social networking accounts,
visit Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter Web sites to
find out more. To add accounts anytime, see “add
accounts” on page 20.
When you finish signing in, your phone shows your
home screen. To import the contacts from your SIM
> Settings > Import
card, tap Contacts, then press
from SIM card. Tap OK to confirm.
Wi-Fi connect
If you want to use a wireless computer network for even
faster Internet access, press
> Settings > Wireless controls
> Wi-Fi settings. Tap Wi-Fi to search for and connect to
wireless networks. For more, see “Wi-Fi” on page 48.

Browse and download thousands of the coolest apps on
the planet from Google, so you can search (of course),
let’s go
map, chat and play to your heart’s content. On top of
that, you get a full HTML browser too, so you can surf in
style.
Download new apps with “Android market” on page 43.
Your phone comes with a microSD memory card
installed—you can load it up with photos, videos, or
music from your computer.

Everything you do on Morrison is backed-up on
MOTOBLUR, so quit worrying. Even if you lose your
device, MOTOBLUR can help you find it, lock it, or wipe

Try these actions to touch and move things in the
touchscreen:

To choose an icon or option, tap it.
For example, from your home
screen, you can tap Contacts.

To open special options, tap and hold an
icon or other item. For example, in the
home screen, tap and hold a chip to
show the options Setup, Move, and Delete.
drag
To move an icon or a list item, you can drag it. For
example, in the home screen, tap and hold a chip to
show its options, then tap Move. Drag the chip to a new
spot, then tap Done.

Gmail to Facebook, Twitter to MySpace—pulling together
the threads you’re following, the people you’re friending
and every story, link or video you’re sharing into a single
stream that you view any way you choose.
Tip: Customize your home screen in “personalize” on

Tip: Flick the home screen left or right to open other

To open a chip, tap it. To add or move chips,

Tap and hold a chip, then tap Setup or Delete. In Setup, you can
change the chip’s name or add more RSS feeds for this
chip. When you open the news chip, flick left to see other
headlines all the chip’s feeds.

Tap a weather chip for the daily forecast.
Then, tap the chip again for the detailed
forecast.

Tap and hold a chip, then tap Setup or Delete. In Setup, you can
change the location or add more locations for this chip.
When you open the weather chip, flick left to see other
locations you added.

your MOTOBLUR account
When you first turned on your phone, you registered for a
MOTOBLUR account that manages your messages,
contacts, and more (“register & import contacts” on
page 7). You can log into this account from a computer
upload contacts, manage the account, get help, or even
locate your phone: ws-cloud1-qa1.blurdev.com/

view accounts & update status
Morrison lets you do just about anything on Facebook,
MySpace, and Twitter right from the full
touchscreen—post photos as soon as you snap them, or
blast your status across all your social networks at once.
MOTOBLUR makes the connections, whether you’re
posting, surfing, or squawking.
After you add a social networking account, you’ll see
your status in your home screen, along with your friends’
updates (“happenings chip” on page 15).
To update your status, just tap it and enter text.

Your service provider programs one or more emergency
phone numbers, such as 911 or 112, that you can call
under any circumstances, even when your phone is
locked or the SIM card is not inserted.
Note: Check with your service provider, as emergency
numbers vary by country. Your phone may not work in all
locations, and sometimes an emergency call cannot be
placed due to network, environmental, or interference
issues. Do not solely rely on your wireless phone for
essential communications, such as medical
emergencies.

when. Every time you pick up a call, check a message or
look up a friend’s contact info, sure, you’ll see their name
and number, but you’ll see their social network status
and smiling face, too.
