To save your battery, prevent accidental touches, or

To change how long your phone w aits before the
screen goes to sleep automatically, touch M enu
> Set t ings > Display > Screen t imeout .

to open the pow er key
menu, w here you can turn off the phone (Power off ),
or turn Silent mode or Airplane mode on or off.
Adjust volume
Press the volume keys to change
the ringer volume (in the home
screen), or the earpiece volume

Home screen
Use the w idgets, shortcuts, and panels to show
w hat’s important to you—w hether it’s home, work or
play.
Use & change your home screen
On your home screen, shortcuts are icons that open
your favorite apps, web bookmarks, contacts, mail
labels, or music playlists. Widgets show you new s,
w eather, messages, and other updates.
Flick the home screen left or right to open other panels
of shortcuts and w idgets.

and hold an empty spot until you see the Add to

Running multiple apps
No need to close an app before opening another one.
Your phone runs multiple apps, all at once.
You can open a new app w hile running another. Touch

your contacts.

To start a conference call, call the first number. After
they answ er, touch Add cal l and call the next number.
When the next number answ ers, touch M erge cal ls.

> Status > CDMA status or GSM status
The status page lists your phone number.
Your caller ID
To hide your number from the people you call, touch
M enu
> Set t ings > Cal l set t ings > Add it ional
set t ings > Cal ler I D.
Call forw arding & w aiting
You can forward calls all the time, or only w hen your
phone is busy, unansw ered, or unreachable (not on the
network):

> Cal l forward ing
When you’re on a call and a second call comes in,
call w aiting lets you answ er it. You can turn off
call w aiting, to send second calls straight to your
voicemail:
