Four of the spotlights should be snapped into place before initial use. The remaining two are included as replacement parts it needed. Two mirrors have also been included as replacement parts it needed. This vehicle is shipped with a wire lead which runs from the transmitter to the vehicle chassis. The wire lead is for package demonstration only Grasp and PU” firmly and should be removed and to remove wire lead. discarded as shown here. Flemove and discard the wire lead which runs from the vehicle to the transmitter. Charging the Battery Pack IMPORTANT! The included 9.6V NiMH battery pack is NOTcharged prior to shipping 9 6V NiMH and must be charged before the first use. Battery Pack Standard 110/120V household electrical outlet Plus (+) Minus (—) markings Transformer Charge Status Indicator Light Charging Cradle 1. Plug the transformer into a standard household 110/120V electrical outlet. 2. insert the 9.6V NiMH Battery Pack into the Charging Cradle as shown above. Make certain that the Plus (+) Minus (—) markings on the Battery Pack match the markings on the Charging Cradle. 3. The Charge Status Indicator Light will glow red. After approximately four hours the Indicator Light will glow green. The green light indicates the Battery Pack is fully charged. Charging the Battery Pack for a longer period will not increase the Battery charge life. NOTE: Battery Packs will become warm after charging or during use. Make certain to allow the Battery Pack to cool before recharging. Charging a warm Battery Pack will greatly reduce its life. The Battery Pack, Charging Cradle and Transformer should be periodically examined for wear or damage. Use of a damaged Battery Pack or Charger can be hazardous. Battery Pack Installation in Vehicle Vehicle Chassis Battery Compartment Battery Compartment Lock Battery Compartment Cover 1.Caretully lay the vehicle on its” side and locate the battery compartment which is on the bottom of the vehicle chassis. 2. Rotate the Battery Compartment Lock so it is in the “open“ position. Remove Battery Compartment Cover. Bane” “Warmer“ L°°K 3. Take a moment to examine the Battery Pack. Me‘a’ “News You will notice that it has three “L" shaped notches on the back part of each side. These notches lock into identical notches in the Battery Compartment. You will also notice two Metal Contacts on one end. When The Battery Pack is properly installed into the Battery Compartment these Metal Contacts will touch two metal contacts in the Battery Compartment. “L" shaped notches 4. Insert the fully charged 9.6V NiMH Battery Pack into the Battery Compartment so that the Battery Pack “L" Shaped Notches lock into the “L" Shaped Notches in the Battery Compartment. The Metal Contacts on the Battery Pack should be touching the Metal Contacts in the Battery Compartment. 5. Replace the Battery Compartment Cover and rotate the Battery Compartment Lock so that it is in the locked position. Transmitter Battery Installation 1. Locate the Battery Compartment Battery Compartment which is on the back of the Transmitter Battery 2. The plus (+) and minus (—) markings on battery pack should be in the same position as the plus (+) minus (—) markings in the battery compartment. - Make certain that the Vehicle On / Otf switch located on the bottom of the chassis is in the “ON“ position. — Make certain that either the red, amber or green transmitter light isglowing indicating that the transmitter is on. - Make certain that the controller is not in the lock mode. There should be sound emanating from the vehicle when the transmitter is in drive mode. Problem - Vehicle moves sporadically by itself. - Make certain there is no outside radio interference in your area. The best way to test this is to take the vehicle as tar away from radio towers, electrical lines or tall bulldlngs as possible.
