Important Safety Instructions
When used in the directed manner, this unit has been designed and manufactured to ensure
your personal safety. However, improper use can result in potential electrical shock or fire
hazards. Please read all safety and operating instructions carefully before installation and
use, and keep these instructions handy for future reference. Take special note of all
warnings listed in these instructions and on the unit.
1. Water and Moisture
The unit should not be used near water. For example: near a bathtub, washbowl,
kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming pool or in a set basement.
2. Ventilation
The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its
proper ventilation. For example, it should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug or similar
surface that may block the ventilation openings. The ventilation should not be impeded
by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths,
curtains, etc. Also, it should not be placed in a built-in installation, such as a bookcase
or cabinet, which may impede the flow of air through the ventilation openings.
3. Heat & Flame
The unit should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers,
stoves or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
4. Power Source
The unit should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the
operating instructions or as marked on the appliance.
Where the AC/DC Adaptor is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall
remain readily operable.
5. Power Cord Protection
Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or
pinched by items placed upon or against them. It is always best to have a clear area
from where the cord exits the unit to where it is plugged into an AC outlet.
6. Cleaning
The unit should be cleaned only as recommended. See the section "Care and
Maintenance" of this manual for cleaning instructions.
7. Object and Liquid Entry
Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into any
openings or vents located on the product. It shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing
and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
8. Attachments
Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer.
9. Lightning and Power Surge Protection
Unplug the unit from the wall outlet and disconnect the periods of time. This will
prevent damage to the product due to lightning and power-line surges.
10. Overloading
Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as
this can result in a risk of fire of electric shock.
11. Damage Requiring Service
This unit should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
A. The power supply cord or plug has been damaged.
B. Objects have fallen into or liquid has been spilled into the enclosure.
C. The unit has been exposed to rain.
D. The unit has been dropped or the enclosure damaged.
E. The unit exhibits a marked change in performance or does not operate normally.
12. Periods of Nonuse
If the unit is to be left unused for an extended period of time, such as a month or longer,
the power cord should be unplugged from the unit to prevent damage or corrosion.

For the unit has been wor ked fo r a ver y long per i od, wher e the backup batt er y voltage may
disch ar g e to a low level which cannot backup the clock and r adio pr es et station data. In this
case you need to r eplace it with the fr es h one.
(1) A backup batter y co m par tm en t located at r ear of the m ain unit.
(2) Open the batter y com par tm ent lid.
(3) Follow the po lar ity di ag r am shown inside the co mpar tm ent and install 2 x AAA (UM- 4)
type batter ies (not included).
(4) Close the batter y com par tm ent lid.

R esettin g the Unit
If the unit exper i ences a power s ur ge or el ectr ic shock, it is possible that the inter n al
m icr o- co ntr oller may lock up and the unit will not r espond to any com m ands fr o m the
panel co ntr o ls.
In this event, use a s tr aig hten ed paper clip, toothpick or si milar objects to pr es s the R E SE T
button located at r ear of the unit (see the below figur e). The r eset oper ati on cl ear s the

Wake to Buzzer
* When the alarm time is reached, the alarm source indicator blinks and the buzzer
alarm will sound for three minutes.
* It goes into auto-Snooze mode if no button has been pressed. The buzzer turns off for
the snooze time (around 10 minutes) then comes on again.
* You may activate the snooze function after the alarm sounds by pressing the SNOOZE
button. The buzzer stops for the snooze time (around 10 minutes) then comes again.
* The snooze operation (including auto-snooze and manual snooze) can be repeated 3
times.
* To cancel the snooze before it expires, press the ALARM button.
* To stop the alarm immediately after the buzzer sounds, you can also press the ALARM
button. It resets itself for the following day.
Wake to Radio
* When the alarm time is reached, the selected alarm source Radio will automatically
turn on. It starts softly and gradually becomes louder. The alarm source indicator
blinks.
* It plays for 30 minutes then shuts off and resets itself for the following day.
* During the activation of the alarm source, you may press the SNOOZE button to
activate the snooze function. The alarm stops for the snooze time (around 10 minutes)
then turns on again.
* The snooze operation can be repeated 3 times.
* To cancel the snooze before it expires, press the ALARM button.
* To stop the alarm immediately after the alarm sounds, you can also press the ALARM
button. It resets itself for the following day.
Sleep Timer Function
Sleep to timer
This feature allows you to fall asleep to the radio or Bluetooth music to 120 Minutes.
The unit shuts off automatically when the time expires.
1. Press the STANDBY button to turn the unit on.
2. Either tune to the desired radio station in radio mode or playback Bluetooth music
from iPad/iPhone.
3. To select the sleep timer to turn the unit off after 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, press
the SLEEP button from the remote control repeatedly. The display shows the sleep time
and the sleep indicator . The unit plays for the selected length of time then
automatically turns off.
4. To turn the unit off before the sleep timer counts down to zero, press the STANDBY
button at any time.
Notes:
* To check the remaining sleep time, press the SLEEP button once from the remote
control.
* If you are falling asleep to Bluetooth music from an iPad/iPhone, the sleep timer
will shut off the power to this system but it will not turn off the Bluetooth device.
* If you are falling asleep to music from an external device connected to the AUX-IN
input, the sleep timer will shut off the power to this system but it will not turn off
the external device.

Wall Mounting option
(1) On the wall, two mounting screws (with same spacing as the main unit mounting holes)
should be ready for the mounting.
(2) Detach the Stand from the main unit.
(3) Insert the Ferrite holder on the rear of the unit.
(4) Place the power cord ferrite on the Ferrite holder.

Clock Setting
When the unit is OFF (at standby mode):
Set 12/24 Hour format
1. Press the MODE button until the display digits blink then entered the 12/24 hour
for mat setting mode.
2. Press the TUN +/- / button to select 12 or 24 hour display format.
Set Clock
3. Press the MODE button again and the clock digits blink.
4. Press the VOL +/- button to set hour.
5. Press the TUN +/- / button to set minute.
Exit setting mode
6. To save all settings and exit the setting mode, press the MODE button or wait for a few
seconds.
Alarm Operation
The unit incorporates alarm function which wakes you up from Buzzer (Beep) or FM Radio.
To select wake up alarm source
1. Turn the unit off.
2. Press and hold the ALARM button until the alarm source indicator BUZ / RAD
blinks on display.
3. P ress the TUN +/- / button to select alarm source Buzzer or FM radio.
To select wake to buzzer, the BUZ indicator blinks.
To select wake to radio, the RAD indicator blinks.
To set alarm time
4. P ress the ALARM button again and the alarm digits blink.
5. Press the VOL +/- button to set alarm hour.
6. P ress the TUN +/- / button to set alarm minute.
Note: Press and hold the / or VOL +/- button for fast advance / reverse value.
Set maximum alarm volume level (apply for alarm source RADIO only)
7. Press the ALARM button again, maximum alarm volume level indicator “V (level
digits)” blinks.
8. Press the VOL + / - button to select maximum alarm volume level, where you can select
the level between 10 and 30 (inclusive).
Save settings
9. To save settings and exit the setting mode, press the ALARM button or wait for few
seconds.
Enable daily alarm
10. P ress the ALARM button to toggle between alarm enable and disable.
To activate the daily alarm, the alarm source indicator BUZ / RAD should appear on
the display.
Note:
When "Wake to Radio" is selected, make sure the radio station which you want to wake
to is tuned.

Auxiliar y Input
This unit pr o vi des an auxil iar y audio sig nal input for connecting ex ter nal audio devices.
1. R em ove the Fer r ite h olde r at r ear of the unit.
2. Connect an audio cabl e with 3.5m m ster eo plug to the AUX - IN J ack located at the back
of the unit.
3. Connect the other end of the cable to a Line Out Jack or Headphon e Jack of yo ur
exter n al audio device.
4. Tu r n on the exter n al audio device.
5. To s elect au xili ar y audio input, pr ess the FUNCTION button until the AUX in di cato r
displays.
6. The volume level can now be con tr o lled th r ough the main unit. Oper ate all other
functions on the auxiliar y device as usual.
Note:
- I f yo u'r e connected the L i ne Out J ack of yo ur exte r nal device then you only need to adjust
the vo lum e co ntr o l of this unit. I f yo u'r e connected the Headphone Jack of yo ur ex ter n al
device, then you m ay need to adjust both the volume con tr o l of yo ur exter n al device and
the volume contr ol of this un it to find the m ost des ir able volum e setting.

Bluetooth Oper ati on
The unit playback iP ad/iP hone/i P od Touch music thr ough Bluetooth oper ation.
Note:
The unit is designed mainly for Bluetooth pair ing Apple device, like iP ad, iP hone and iP od
Touch.
Y ou may tr y other br an d of sm ar t phone / m obile device which has Bluetooth function.
Although som e of the ear l ier m obile phone models which have Bluetooth function, it may
not com patible with this unit.
B efor e you did the Bluetooth pair ing/co nn ection, following infor m atio n will help:
(A) Whilst the unit is s ear chin g fo r Bluetooth device (e.g. iP ho ne), the B luetooth L E D
indicator will blink fast.
Whilst the unit pai r ed with a B luetooth device (e.g. iP hon e), the Bluetooth L E D indicator
will blink slowly.
(B) The Bluetooth device name of this model: NTX
For the m obile phone/device with B luetooth ver s io n V2.1 and above:

Bluetooth pair ing/co nn ection

2. P r es s the FUNCTION button to select Bluetooth mode. The " bt " in dicato r displays.
3. The unit will s ear ch ne ig hbour ing B luetooth device and the B luetooth L E D indica tor
will blink fast.
4. F r om the iP ad/iP hon e/iP od Touch, tur n on its Bluetooth function and it will also
sear ch fo r the neighbour in g Bluetooth device.
5. F r om the Bluetooth device list of yo ur iP ad/iP hon e/i P od Touch, tap on Bluetooth
device name “NTX” of this model for the connection (P IN is not r equir ed). I n case it
pr om pts for the P I N, please e nter “0000”.
6. Once the Apple device is pair ed with the unit, the Bluetooth LED i ndicator will blink
slowly.

of this unit to find the most des ir abl e volum e setting.

(b) the FF / FR button (or / button on the main unit) to skip tr acks for war d /
back war d.

Note:
(A) Auto- pair ing/con nection : With yo ur mobile device is pair ed, in the case of (i) pr essi ng
the FUNCTI ON button a r ou nd t r ip back to the B luetooth m ode or (ii) tu r n the unit off
and on again, the unit will auto - pair with the pr evio us ly connected mobile device.
(B) Manual pair ing /con nection : In the case you would like to pai r /co nnect other mobile
device, in Bluetooth mo de, pr es s the BL UE TOOTH button to wait for Bluetooth device
pai r ing then implement steps 3 to 9 above.

R adio Tun er Oper ation
FM Antenna
Fully extend the FM antenna wir e fo r the best FM r adio r eception.
R adi o Tuning
1. P r ess the S TANDB Y button to tur n on the unit.
2. P r es s the FUNCTION button to select FM r adio Ster eo or Mono r eceivin g mode, wher e
the ster eo indi cato r “ FM” and mono indicator “FM “ display r espectively.
3. To m anually tune to a des ir ed station, r epeat edly pr ess the TUN +/- / button.
4. To automatically sear ch for stations with str ong signals, pr es s and hold the TUN +/-
/ button until the fr equency digits on display begins to scan then r elease the button.
The tuner will stop on the fi r st str o ng signal it finds.
Notes:
Manual tune to select weak er stations that might be skipped dur ing autom atic
tuning.
If the automatic tuning does not stop on the exact fr eq uen cy of the station, for
example, it stops on 88.9 MHz instead of 88.8 MHz, use the manual tuning method to
"fine tune" to the exact fr e qu en cy of the des ir ed station.

The unit allows you to stor e up to 20 FM stations for eas y r ecal l at any time.
