F or exam ple: near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundr y tub, swim m ing pool or in a set basem ent. Ventilation The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not inter fer e with its pr oper ventilation. R esetting the Unit I f the unit exper iences a power sur ge or electr ic shock, it is possible that the inter nal m icr o- contr oller m ay lock up and the unit will not r espond to any com m ands fr om the panel contr ols. I n this event, use a str aig htened paper clip, toothpick or sim ilar objects to pr ess the R E SE T button located at r ear of the unit (see the below figur e). I nstallation Clock / Mem or y batter y back- up For the unit has been wor ked for a ver y long per iod, wher e the backup batter y voltage m ay dischar ge to a low level which cannot backup the clock and r adio pr eset station data. Follow the polar ity diagr am shown inside the com par tm ent and install 2 x AAA (UM- 4) type batter ies (not included). Close the batter y com par tm ent lid. R em ote Contr ol The r em ote contr ol oper ates on one CR 2025 L ithium batter y (included). To activate the r em ote contr ol, r em ove the insulation tab attached in the batter y com par tm ent. War nings: B atter ies shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fir e or the lik e. B e sur e that the batter ies ar e installed cor r ectly. Wr ong polar ity m ay dam age the unit. Do not m ix old and new batter ies. Do not m ix alkaline, standar d (car bon- zinc) or r echar geable (nickel- cadm ium) batter ies. I t goes into auto- Snooze m ode if no button has been pr essed. The buzzer tur ns off for the snooze tim e (ar ound 10 m inutes) then com es on again. Y ou m ay activate the snooze function after the alar m sounds by pr essing the SNOOZE button. The buzzer stops for the snooze tim e (ar ound 10 m inutes) then com es again. The snooze oper ation (including auto- snooze and m anual snooze) can be r epeated 3 tim es. To cancel the snooze befor e it expir es, pr ess the AL AR M button. To stop the alar m im m ediately after the buzzer sounds, you can also pr ess the AL AR M button. I t r esets itself for the following day. Wall Mounting option (1) On the wall, two m ounting scr ews (with sam e spacing as the m ain unit m ounting holes) should be r eady for the m ounting . (2) Detach the Stand fr om the m ain unit. (3) I nser t the F er r ite holder on the r ear of the unit. (4) P lace the power cor d fer r ite on the Fer r ite holder . (5) Hang the unit on the wall Wake to R adio When the alar m tim e is r eached, the selected alar m sour ce R adio will autom atically tur n on. I t star ts softly and gr adually becom es louder . The alar m sour ce indicator blinks. I t plays for 30 m inutes then shuts off and r esets itself for the following day. Dur ing the activation of the alar m sour ce, you m ay pr ess the SNOOZE button to activate the snooze function. The alar m stops for the snooze tim e (ar ound 10 m inutes) then tur ns on again. The snooze oper ation can be r epeated 3 tim es. To cancel the snooze befor e it expir es, pr ess the AL AR M button. To stop the alar m im m ediately after the alar m sounds, you can also pr ess the AL AR M button. I t r esets itself for the following day. Sleep Tim er Function Sleep to tim er This featur e allows you to fall asleep to the r adio or B luetooth m usic to 120 Minutes. To select the sleep tim er to tur n the unit off after 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 m inutes, pr ess the S L E E P button fr om the r em ote contr ol r epeatedly. The display shows the sleep tim e and the sleep indicator . The unit plays for the selected leng th of tim e then autom atically tur ns off. To tur n the unit off befor e the sleep tim er counts down to zer o, pr ess the STANDB Y button at any tim e. Notes: To check the r em aining sleep tim e, pr ess the S L E E P button once fr om the r em ote contr ol. I f you ar e falling asleep to B luetooth m usic fr om an iP ad/iP hone, the sleep tim er will shut off the power to this system but it will not tur n off the B luetooth device. Oper ate all other functions on the auxiliar y device as usual. Although som e of the ear lier m obile phone m odels which have B luetooth function, it m ay not com patible with this unit. B efor e you did the B luetooth pair ing/connection, following infor m ation will help: (A) Whilst the unit is sear ching for B luetooth device (e.g. iP hone), the B luetooth L E D indicator will blink fast. Whilst the unit pair ed with a B luetooth device (e.g . iP hone), the B luetooth L E D indicator will blink slowly. (B ) The B luetooth device nam e of this m odel: NTX For the m obile phone/device with B luetooth ver sion V2.1 and above: - - - - - - - - - No P I N is r equir ed for B luetooth connection to this m odel. Fr om the iP ad/iP hone/iP od Touch, tur n on its B luetooth function and it will also sear ch for the neighbour ing B luetooth device. 5. Fr om the B luetooth device list of your iP ad/iP hone/iP od Touch, tap on B luetooth device nam e “NTX” of this m odel for the connection (P I N is not r equir ed). I n case it pr om pts for the P I N, please enter “0000”. 6. Once the Apple device is pair ed with the unit, the B luetooth L E D indicator will blink slowly. Y ou m ay adjust both the volum e contr ol of your Apple device and the volum e contr ol of this unit to find the m ost desir able volum e setting. 9. Note: (A) Auto- pair ing/connection : With your m obile device is pair ed, in the case of (i) pr essing the FUNCTI ON button a r ound tr ip back to the B luetooth m ode or (ii) tur n the unit off and on again, the unit will auto- pair with the pr eviously connected m obile device. (B ) Manual pair ing/connection : I n the case you would like to pair /connect other m obile device, in B luetooth m ode, pr ess the B L UE TOOTH button to wait for B luetooth device pair ing then im plem ent steps 3 to 9 above. R adio Tuner Oper ation FM Antenna Fully extend the F M antenna wir e for the best F M r adio r eception. R adio Tuning 1. P r ess the STANDB Y button to tur n on the unit. 2. P r ess the FUNCTI ON button to select F M r adio Ster eo or Mono r eceiving m ode, wher e the ster eo indicator “ FM” and m ono indicator “FM “ display r espectively. 3. To m anually tune to a desir ed station, r epeatedly pr ess the TUN +// button. 4. To autom atically sear ch for stations with str ong signals, pr ess and hold the TUN +// button until the fr equency digits on display begins to scan then r elease the button. The tuner will stop on the fir st str ong signal it finds. Notes: Manual tune to tuning. I f the autom atic exam ple, it stops "fine tune" to the select weak er stations that m ig ht be skipped dur ing autom atic tuning does not stop on the exact fr equency of the station, for on 88.9 MHz instead of 88.8 MHz, use the m anual tuning m ethod to exact fr equency of the desir ed station. R adio P r eset Stations The unit allows you to stor e up to 20 FM stations for easy r ecall at any tim e. Auto- pr eset 1. P r ess the STANDB Y button to tur n on the unit. 2. To select desir ed pr eset station num ber , pr ess the button fr om the m ain unit or the CH +/- button fr om the r em ote contr ol. 6. To confir m pr eset location, pr ess the ME M button. 7. R epeat steps 3 to 6 to stor e other stations, if apply.
