Use in a swimming pool, pond or small body of water. Attach the antenna to your transmitter. Slide the boat’s antenna wire through the supplied tube. Then, insert the tube into the antenna tube holder. Turn your boat and transmitter on. Place your boat in the water and use the transmitter’s controls to operate it. Your transmitter’s LED lights when you move the controls.in your transmitterYour transmitter requires one 9V alkaline battery (not supplied, available at your local RadioShack store or online at www.radioshack.com). Press OPEN and pull the battery cover downward. Insert your 9V battery, matching the polarity (+ and -) symbols marked inside. Replace the cover.When your transmitter’s range decreases, replace its battery.in your boatYour boat requires one 9.6V rechargeable nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery pack (not supplied, available at your local RadioShack store or online at www.radioshack.com). You must charge it before use. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for charging your battery pack.  Turn your boat off. Turn the right and left latches toward the OPEN arrow and remove the cover. Attach the battery pack’s connector to the boat’s connector. Both frequencies (27 MHz and 49 MHz) are available from your local RadioShack store.• Running your boat continuously for long periods generates high heat levels, which cause wear and tear on the motor. To help keep heat levels down, let the boat cool at least 10 minutes before installing a fresh battery pack.• Keep your boat away from grass and debris that could cause propeller damage.• If your boat does not respond, drives slowly, or the range reduces, recharge your battery pack.• If your boat fails to respond after recharging, replace the battery in the transmitter and check the propellers for debris.• When your boat slows down from loss of battery power, guide it shore immediately so you won’t lose it.• When your boat goes outside the transmitter’s range, it stops. Hold your transmitter high above your head to try to re-establish contact. If this doesn’t work, move closer and try again. Be careful not to wade in deep water.• Never touch the propellers while they are spinning, and avoid the propellers while the boat is on.• Children must be supervised by adults when playing with toys around water.• Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury batteries.• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type.• Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries with different capacities or different chemistries.• Never leave a dead or weak battery in your transmitter.• If you do not plan to use your RC boat for a few weeks, remove the battery from your transmitter. Batteries can leak chemicals that may damage electronic parts.• Do not charge or recharge your battery pack when it is in the boat.• Do not overcharge your battery pack.• Do not recharge your battery pack immediately after use. Allow it to cool fi rst.• Make sure your battery pack is securely fastened to your boat before playing.• Batteries purchased for use in this toy may be hazardous to children. Check the safety notice before use.Drain holesOn/Off Propeller• When you fi nish playing, remove your boat from the water. • Remove the rubber caps on the three drain holes and shake excess water from your boat.• Use and store your boat and transmitter only in room temperature environments. • Handle them carefully. Do not drop them. • Keep your boat and transmitter away from dust and dirt, and wipe them with a damp cloth occasionally to keep them looking new.• Leave its battery cover off while in storage to allow moisture to evaporate.The EPA certifi ed RBRC® Battery Recycling Seal on the nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery indicates RadioShack is voluntarily participating in an industry program to collect and recycle these batteries at the end of their useful life, when taken out of service in the United States or Canada. The RBRC program provides a convenient alternative to placing used Ni-Cd batteries into the trash or the municipal waste stream, which may be illegal in your area.
