Using Your Remote Transmmer
Arming the Slcurily System
To arm the system. exit the vehicle. close all doors then press the IOCK icon button
on the transmitter The horn will honk Mice and the parking lights thl flash Mice.
indicating the system IS armed The doors will also look at this time (it equipped one
connected). blue dashboard status indicator light will blink steadily. once per second.
To arm the system silently. press and hold the LOCK icon button ‘or 2 seconds The
parking lights will flash 2 times. indicatan the system is armed. has looked the doors
(il equipped and connected) and armed the sewrny system The blue dash mountec
status indicator light will blink steadily. orce pet second
Pro-arm Mode
If the hon honks and the parking lights flash only once. mis ndicates that the vehicles interior light is
on or an entrance is Ielt open, Check 13 see that all doors hood and t'urik are closed properly Once all
entrances are secured (and the interior light is off}. lhc system wtll hank/flash again. The system is
now leIy armed. (If the entrance is not secured within 4 mithes. the system will arm and ignore the
unsecured entranoe until it is closed)
Disarmirrg the Security System
To disarm the system press the UNLOCK icon button. The horn wil chirp and the parking lights will
flash once. and the doors will unlock (it equipped and connected) To disarm the system silently.

Disabling/Enabling Confirmation Chirps

Using Your Remote Transmitter
Two Stage Door Unlock (Optional)
If this leature in enablec on your system. pressing the JNLOCK icon button one time on the transmitter
will unlcck only the driver‘s dour. Press the UNLOCK icon DLflOn again wlthln 15 seconds to unlock
the remaining doors.
Activating the Trunk Release Feature (Optional)
ll this leature is enabled on your system. pressing and hnlcing the TRUNK icon button on the
transmitter for 2 seconds will open the vehlcles "runk or hatch.
Turning on the Vehicle’s Headlights (Optional)
"this leaturc is enabled on your system, maxing and holcing the LODK icon button on the transmitter

Using the Progressive Car Finder Feature
Press the * icor button on the transmmer to locate your vehicle. The hour will honk 5 times at low
volume increasing in volume each of 3 til-tee the button is pressed.
Using the Personal Protection Alarm (Panic)
Press and hold the at icnn bii'tnn nri the. transrritter lnr 3 semnrls to activate. the. personal protection
alarm The horn will pulse lor 30 seconds. Pressing any button 01 the transmitter will turn the
personal protection alarm ow.
Using the Transmitter Flashlight Feature
The 6 button transmitters included with your system have a tashlight bulb built into the top olthe
transmitter. 2rcssirig and holding the LIGHT icon button on the transmitter will activate the flashlight

Using Valet Mode
To engage valet mode:
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position
2. Press and hold the valet/override buttm until the blue dash nourted status indicator
light turrs on SOlICI. Indicating that the system has entered valet mode.
When valet mode is activated the blue dash mounted status ndicatnr light will light solid. and all
security tundicns will be disabled.
To disengage valet Mode:
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
2. Press and release the valet/override buttun the blue dash maunted szatus indicator
light will turn all Indicating that the system has exited vale“ mode.
When the valet mode has been deactivated the blue dash mounted status indicator light will turn 0"
and all security functions Will be enabled the next time the system is armed
Automatic Convenience Options

When the system is UNLOCKED. the mantle oocrtesy lights will turn on for 30 secunds. or until
the vehicle ls started or the system is re—Iocked,
Automatic Arminq
If his feature is enabled on your system, the security system will a'm automatically 1 mirlute
after the igriiion key is turned off and the last vehicle door rs closed, The dash mounted status
LED Will hash rapidly indicating the 1 ‘ninute countdown. This sequence can be aborted by
opening one of the vehicle's doors.
Ignition Lock
If all doors are closed and the vehicle is started with the key. the doors will autcmatically luck.
If vehicle is started with vehicle doors open. the doors will not look and will rerrain unlocked
even after doors are cosed
Ignition Unlock
When removing the key from the Ig him, the doors wII automatically u1lock
When Your Security System ls Triggered
The security system will trigger it one orihe ioliowing events occurs while the system is
armed.
1 Any protected entrance is opened.
2. The velicle's ignitlon is turned on.
3. The vehicle isjclted hard enough to trager the IT-s sensor.
When the system is triggered. the vehicle's ho'n will produce a series of random iiorn honks
called “Real Panic sound" Ihe system erI trigger for 30 seconds and then reerm, Ihe
system will also silence ii the UNLOCK icon button is pressed. disarming the system and
unlockhg the vehicle's chrs.
The blue dash mcunted status indicator light is a hgh intensity blue lig'tt that is momted on
the vehicle's dash The blue dash mounted status ndiaator light is used to warn a would-be
thief that the vehicle is protected Theblue dash mounted status indicator light is also used to
alert ycu or the vehicles status.

Optional Songbird Feature
The optio'ral songbird lecture (Code Alarm part a 581 and labor required) allows you to program
songs and tones to your system (Le Setting a different tone ‘or Lock actlvatlor anc unlock activauon).
Turning Songbird On: Press and release ‘he TRUNK icon button on the remote control. then press and
hold the LOCK imn button on the remote control within 2 seconds The 531 speaker will give rotrficatorr

Turning Songbird Off: Press and release the TRUNK icon button on the remote conzrol. then press and
hold the LN_OCK icon button on the remote control witrin 2 seconds The 551 speaker wil give
notification that Songbird has be armed OFF.
Setting Songbird Tones: Press and release the TRUNK icon button on the remote control, then press
the OPT button on the. remote nontml within 2 seconds Press the. I OCK imn button or the remote.

Replacing Remote Control Batteries
The two (2) 3 volt lithium batteries (model CRZDZ5) Inside each remote control shou d last
approximately 1 year under normal use When the batteries become weak you will rotice t'te
transmitter range (the distance from the ve'ticle the remote control will worki deterlorate and the small
indicator Ilght on the remote control will dim. To replace the remote control batteries
1 Using a small (an) philllps screwdriver, remove the screw on the sack of the remote control
2 Gently unenap the halves oi the remote control apart,
3 Slice the 2 lithium batteries out at the circut board‘ observtng the +l- symbols on the
batteries and replace with new litt'ium 3 volt batteries (model CR2025)
Gently snap the halves ot the remote control back together and reinstall the phillips screw
on the back of the remote control
