The BLED112 Bluetooth® Smart Module is the buddy for your Nymi Band™, if you have a Windows® computer. You need it in order to use the Windows version of the Nymi Companion or any Nymi-Enabled Applications. The Bluetooth module passes data between your computer and your Nymi Band, because the default way that Windows handles Bluetooth does not work well with the Nymi. You need the module for all Windows computers - regardless of whether or not it already has Bluetooth. Bluegiga’s BLED112 Bluetooth Smart Module is the only dongle that is Nymi-compatible. Contact help@nymi.com for more info HOW DO I USE IT? Plug it into your computer’s USB port and keep it there. Do not use a USB hub as this may interfere with the module’s functionality. HOW DO I GET MORE? If you have more than one Windows computer that you would like to use with your Nymi, you can order more modules at help@nymi.com. For all other platforms, enable Bluetooth on your device to connect to your Nymi Band. Go to got.nymi.com to download the Nymi Companion onto it. IMPORTANT - Consult Safety Instructions Before Use. ENABLE BLUETOOTH Turn on Bluetooth® on your device. For Windows® PC, you need to use a Nymicompatible Bluetooth module. If you don’t have one, contact help@nymi.com. WEAR YOUR NYMI BAND Clasp your Nymi Band onto your wrist with the lights facing you. If you do not see the lights, your charger may be on backwards. FULL CHARGE A full charge takes approximately two hours when you use a wall outlet or your computer’s USB port. 12 CHECK THE STATUS OF YOUR NYMI BAND™ CHECK STATUS Whenever your Nymi Band is idle, you can check its status by double tapping it. 13 INACTIVE Your Nymi has not been activated yet. BUSY Your Nymi Band is currently connected to an application, and unable to connect to another one. WATER RESISTANT DESIGN The Nymi Band is water resistant, but not waterproof. Do not shower or swim with your Nymi Band on. If water is splashed on it, dry it off as soon as possible. TEMPERATURE Do not heat, microwave, or freeze your Nymi Band. Do not store it with direct sunlight exposure. Do not leave your Nymi Band in a hot car. CLEANING YOUR NYMI BAND Use only a clean, damp cloth to clean your Nymi Band. Do not use chemicals. 14 TROUBLESHOOTING MY NYMI BAND™ IS NOT CHARGING NYMI COMPANION IS NOT FINDING MY NYMI BAND HOW DO I TURN MY NYMI BAND ON? Refer to the diagram in “Charging my Nymi Band” on page 12 for the proper orientation of the charger. Plug the USB end of the charging cable into a wall charger or a computer that is turned on. If you do not see the lights on your Nymi Band light up after 30 seconds, you may have the charger on backwards, or the charger is not making full contact with the pins. The Nymi Companion can only find Nymi Bands that you are wearing on your wrist. Also make sure your Bluetooth is enabled on your device. If the Nymi Companion does not find your Nymi Band, unclasp and reclasp it. You should see that the Nymi Band is in search mode when there is one light running back and forth on the Nymi Core. Please also ensure that you’ve charged the Nymi Band for at least 30 minutes. When you clasp the Nymi Band onto your wrist, you should see one or more lights appear. This means that the Nymi band has been connected properly and is sending information through Bluetooth®. However, Nymi-Enabled Applications will not be able to recognize your Nymi Band until you’ve activated your band with the Nymi Companion. You have to activate your Nymi Band every time you put it on. That is how the Applications know who you are. If you do not see any lights appear when you put on your Nymi Band, ensure that it is charged. Next, ensure that you’ve properly clasped your Nymi Band. There should not be any space between the core and the band when the clasp is closed.
