Built-in head cleaner (Model PV-744S only) A clean video head helps produce a clear picture. So, we have equipped your DVD/VCR with a built-in, non-chemical head cleaning system that helps prevent clogging of the video heads. Cleaning is performed each time you load or unload a video cassette. • This feature is preventative only, If your video heads are seriously clogged, consider the use of a chemical non-abrasive head cleaning kit or take your DVD/VCR to a Servicenter. Video head cleaning The video heads are the means by which the DVD/VCR reads the picture from the tape during playback. In the unlikely event that the heads become dirty enough to be clogged, no picture will be played back. This can easily be determined if, during playback of a known good tape, there is good sound, but no picture (picture is extremely snowy). If this is the case, have the DVD/VCR checked by qualified service personnel. Good Picture Snowy Picture NOTES: • DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE VIDEO HEADS OR SERVICE THE UNIT BY REMOVING THE REAR COVER. • Video heads may eventually wear out and should be replaced when they fail to produce clear pictures. • To help prevent video head clogging, use only good quality VHS tapes. Discard worn out tapes. 57 2C51801A (53-BACK) 57 18/07/2003, 10:47 Specifications GENERAL Power supply: Power consumption: Weight: Dimensions: Inputs/Outputs: Video: Audio: Antenna: Hi-Fi frequency response: Hi-Fi dynamic range: AC 120V 60Hz Operation: 18W Stand by: 2W 3.6 kg (7.9 lbs) Width : 430 mm (16-15/16 inches) Height : 99 mm (3-7/8 inches) Depth : 250 mm (9-13/16 inches) In: 1Vp-p/75 ohm Out: 1Vp-p/75 ohm In: –8dBm/50k ohm Out: –8dBm/1k ohm UHF/VHF IN/OUT: 75 ohm coaxial 20Hz to 20,000Hz More than 90dB VCR section Video head: Audio track: Tuner: RF channel output: F.FWD/REW Time: 4 Rotary Heads Hi-Fi Sound - 2 Tracks / MONO Sound - 1 Track 181 Channel Freq.
