You can also control devices located indifferent rooms by integrating an MRF base station. Controlling yourhome is simple with the MXW-920i remote. Splash Proof IR/RF wand-style controllerThe Splash Proof MXW-920i wand-style controller can be usedoutside as well as indoors. It’s the perfect controller for kitchen, bathand poolside use. It is not intended for underwater use or exposureto sugar-based substances (e.g., soda or lemonade). Make sure the MXW-920i is dry when changing batteries. MXW-920i OWNER’SMANUALUsing the MXW-920i The MXW-920i displays the Main or Device page at the top of thescreen. Below the title, the LCD displays the device or command names. All the hard buttons of the MXW-920i are changed to control the functionsof the selected device.The Title displaysthe Main or Devicepages you can control.Press either of thePage buttons to seeany other availablechoices. The LCD buttonlabels describes the functions available for the current activity ordevice. The Channel andPrevious Channelbuttons adjust channels for devices with channel functions(i.e. cable boxes)The 5-way cursorbuttons enable youto navigate onscreen guides andmenus with ease.The Number keypadenters numbers forthe devices you’veselected. Whenwatching Cable TV,use the numberkeypad to enterchannel numbers.When listening to aCD, the numberkeypad enters tracknumbers.The Volume andMute buttons alwayscontrol the soundregardless of whatscreen is displayed.The Transport buttons(Play, Stop, Skip-,Skip+, FF, REW andPause) operate whenthe selected devicerequires them. Whenwatching CableTV, use the numberkeypad to enterchannel numbers.When listening to aCD, the numberkeypad enters tracknumbers.The Light buttonbacklights all the buttons and activates the LCD screenPage 2

MXW-920i OWNER’SMANUALDisplaying the Setup ScreenYou can adjust the settings of the MXW-920icontroller whenever you like. Simply press andhold both the Main and the Enter buttons at thesame time for three seconds. The screen displaysthe Setup and the Edit screens. Press the Page + and - buttons to toggle between both screens. If you do not press any button on the Setup screen within 30 seconds, the MXW-920i times out and automatically returns to normal operation. You can return to normal operation before that by pressing the Main button.Selecting from the Setup ScreenSimply touch the button for the setting you’d like to adjust:At the same time, press andhold both the Main and the Enter buttons. When the Setupscreen appears, release the twobuttons.Page 3LCD - Adjustments for the LCD screen(brightness, contrast, light)Light - Adjustments for backlight of thebuttons.Sound - The volume of the beeps.System - Set the threshold for the lowbattery warningVersion - Displays factory info.

Page 4Setting the LCDWith these settings, you can set the MXW-920i to constantly displaythe LCD or have it turn off when not in use. Additionally, you can controlthe contrast of the screen and the color of the backlighting.MXW-920i OWNER’SMANUALTo activate the LCD On/Off setting, pressthis button. See below.To activate the Contrast setting, press thisbutton. See the next page.To activate the Brightness setting, pressthis button. See the next page.To exit without saving any changes youhave made, press Exit.LCD Timer Setting:If you set the LCD to OFF, the timer settingsappear. The LCD turns off after the setamount of time set by adjusting the Leftand Right arrow keys.The timer can be set to turn off the LCDbetween 10 seconds and 20 minutes.The Timer Interval is displayed here.To save any changes you have made,press Save.To exit without saving any changes youhave made, press Exit.To change the timer interval, press theLeft or Right arrow keys.

Page 5MXW-920i OWNER’SMANUALSetting LCD ContrastYou can adjust the contrast of the LCD screen using the Left andRight arrow keys once the LCD Contrast screen has been selected(shown on the previous page).Setting LCD BrightnessYou can adjust the brightness of the LCD screen using the Left andRight arrow keys once the LCD Brightness screen has been selected(shown on the previous page).The current contrast is displayed here via a bar graph.To save any changes you have made,press Save.To exit without saving any changes youhave made, press Exit.Adjust the Contrast setting with the Leftand Right keys as shown in the previouspages.The current brightness is displayed hereas a bar graph.To save any changes you have made,press Save.To exit without saving any changes youhave made, press Exit.Adjust the LCD brightness with the Leftand Right keys as shown in the previouspages.

MXW-920i OWNER’SMANUALPage 6Light SettingsYou can adjust the backlighting of the remote in two additional ways:1. You can turn on/off the LCD and the hard button backlighting.2. You can select the length of time the lighting stays on after thelast button press from a range of values between 10 secondsand 90 seconds.Sound VolumeYour MXW-920i beeps whenever a button is pressed. However, youcan adjust the volume of the beep to one of four levels as shown here.Change whether the backlighting is on oroff by pressing this button.If you want the backlighting always off,set it to OFF.If you would like the backlighting on,select ON.The current timer setting is displayedhere in seconds.Adjust the backlighting timer setting withthe Left and Right keys as shown in theprevious pages.The current Beep volume is displayedhere as a “bar.”Adjust the volume of the beep by tapping the Left and Right (use capitals)arrow keys as shown in the previouspages.

The memory in use iswhite.To exit, press Main.To exit, press Main.

Touch the buttonfor the setting you’d like to adjust:Adjusting the TextSelect Text from the Edit screen to modify any labels.Text - Change the label of a device orbutton.Learn - Transfer IR data from remote toMXW-920i.Erase - Remove learned data.Factory - Installer ONLY. Do not pressunless instructed by a custominstaller. All data will be lostonce the sequence has begun. DevBtn - Removes any learned commandson a device button label such asCable.Device - Erases all learned commands forone device.All - Erases all learned data on the remote.To exit, press Main.WARNING: DO NOT PROCEEDUNLESS SPECIFICED BY YOURCUSTOM INSTALLER! THISSECTION WILL ERASE ALL DATAON THE REMOTE.Pressing Yes will format the remote’s diskand set it back to the factory settings. To exit, press No or Main.

Observe the + and - polarityindications inside the battery compartment. Place the four AAA batteriesinto their positions in the battery compartmentobserving the + and -polarity indicators on the batteries.
