Page 4TKP-7500 IN-WALL NETWORK COLOR TOUCHSCREENInstalling the TKP-7500 The TKP-7500 is wall-mountable and fits easily into a dual-gangopening. Prior to installation, make sure power is available at thepreferred location.Power can be supplied to the TKP-7500 through an Ethernet cableconnected to a PoE (power over ethernet), in either of the followingways:=Router/Switch =InjectorPower over Ethernet or PoE technology describes a system to passelectrical power safely, along with data, on Ethernet cabling. TheIEEE standard for PoE requires Category 5 cable or higher for highpower levels.InstallationFollow the diagram below for installation:1. Make sure the dual-gang opening is fitted with a standard two-gang trim box (available from the local electricalsupplier/store)2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the rear of the supplied TKP-7500wall-plate.3. Mount the wall-plate to the two-gang retro-box4. The TKP-7500 easily snaps into place to the wall-plate.
Page 5TKP-7500 IN-WALL NETWORK COLOR TOUCHSCREENAdjusting User Settings on the TKP-7500By pressing and holding the Main and Mute buttons for 5 seconds(found in the Core Menu) simultaneously the TKP-7500 SettingsMenu will appear. Simultaneously press both the Main and Mute buttons to activatethe Settings Menu.Settings Menu The Settings Menu allows you to adjust some basic parameters ofthe TKP-7500 keypad.Select these options by pressing the appropriate icon. If noicon/button is pressed for 45 seconds, the unit will revert back tothe Main screen.The Settings Menu is broken down into the following categories:Sleep Settings: Manages how long the LCD remains ON afterusage.General: Contains settings for Time, Date and Temperature ScaleSound: Allows control of any confirmation beeps, or the abilityto disable these tones.Brightness: Easily adjust the LCD screen's brightness level, andenable/disable the light sensor. Vibration: Adjust the touch screen’s vibration sensitivity.System: Quickly view the Memory Usage, Firmware Versionand other details about the TKP-7500.Network: View information about the current network as wellas set a Dynamic or static IP address for the TKP-7500.Factory Default: Reset the TKP-7500 to factory settings.
Page 6TKP-7500 IN-WALL NETWORK COLOR TOUCHSCREENSleep SettingsDecide upon the option that best fits the current needs.LCD Screen is always ON: This option keeps the LCD screenilluminated at all timesLCD Screen will turn OFF: This option allows the user to decide onthe amount of time that the LCD screen will remain illuminatedafter it is last used. The + and – buttons will adjust the time frameup or down accordingly.LCD Screen will display a screen saverThis option will display a screen saver of the photos found on theonline website, Picassa. This will start display after the time frameselected in the Start After box, and will continue for the amount oftime dictated in the Duration  box.Selecting OK will accept any changes made and return to the Mainmenu, as well as selecting Cancel will return the user to the Mainmenu, without incorporating any changes.
Page 7TKP-7500 IN-WALL NETWORK COLOR TOUCHSCREENGeneralThe General settings screen allows for setting the Time, Date anddecide on the scale used to display the temperature(Fahrenheit/Celsius).To view the rest of the General settings menu, be sure to scroll up/down.Using the arrow found at the left and right sides of each property(hour, minutes, month, etc.) adjusts the value up, or down, respectively.Selecting OK will accept any changes made and return to the Mainmenu, as well as selecting Cancel will return the user to the Mainmenu, without incorporating any changes.
Page 8SoundBy default, the TKP-7500 emits a low volume beep as a confirmationtone for screen presses. Use this menu to adjust thesound to your liking.Use the + or – buttons to raise or lower the volume of the confirmationbeep.Selecting OK will accept any changes made and return to the Mainmenu, as well as selecting Cancel will return the user to the Mainmenu, without incorporating any changes.TKP-7500 IN-WALL NETWORK COLOR TOUCHSCREEN
Page 9TKP-7500 IN-WALL NETWORK COLOR TOUCHSCREENBrightnessDetermine the overall brightness of the TKP-7500's display, orincorporate a light sensor that will adjust the brightness of the unitbased upon ambient room lighting.Use the + or – buttons to raise or lower the level of brightness.Selecting Enable Light Sensor disables the Brightness Level selectionand dynamically adjust the LCD brightness based upon the ambientroom lighting detected by the light sensor.Selecting OK will accept any changes made and return to the Mainmenu, as well as selecting Cancel will return the user to the Mainmenu, without incorporating any changes.

Page 12TKP-7500 IN-WALL NETWORK COLOR TOUCHSCREENNetworkThis option will show important information about the currentnetwork, its settings and give the ability to edit the IP address of theTKP-7500.Be careful, these settings should only be edited by a professional.Entering values without specific information or instruction couldeasily result in the TKP-7500 failing to function correctly.The Network Information screen will display the status of thenetwork connection (connected, not connected) as well as thecurrent address type (DHCP or Static), IP address and Subnet Mask.Selecting the EDIT icon reveals a screen that allows for changing ofthe method for assigning an IP address to the keypad.• Obtain an IP address automatically: this uses the DHCP methodof IP addressing• Use the following address: this option requires that the Staticaddress of the keypad, as well as other network information beentered. This is the recommended method to connect the TKP-7500
