The BF-160 incorporates a newly developed compact color-chip CCD in the scope
tip capable of delivering the same level of high-resolution image quality as a
gastrointestinal videoscope. Details are sharp and clear throughout the image area,
assuring precise, and accurate observation.

Designed to minimize operator fatigue and
maximize efficiency, the control section is
contoured to fit comfortably in the operator’s left
hand. Switch functions can be user-defined and all
switches and knobs are arranged on the control

Fully insulated to minimize any potential risk, this
scope is compatible with electrocautery — an
advanced treatment system that produces less
smoke than laser treatment and is widely used for
specialized surgery such as removal of elevated
tumors in the bronchi.
Compatibility With Electrocautery For Added Versatility
To make the scope easier to wash and brush and
to optimize the effect of disinfectant immersion, the
exterior is designed to minimize surface protrusions
and indentations while the interior features a
simplified, jointless channel configuration. For
added convenience, all reprocessing accessories
are either autoclavable or disposable.
Reprocessing Capability For Reliability You Can Count On
The accessories are designed to the same
specifications as those for Olympus’s previous and
current bronchovideoscopes and
bronchofiberscopes. This makes it easy to use the
same accessory with different scopes, reducing
equipment costs and simplifying accessory
management.
Standardized Accessories Can Be Used With All Scopes
Monitoring the image while you work is much easier with the BF-160 thanks to its
larger image display. Since this increased size does not come at the expense of
image quality, you’ll easily spot tiny details that you might otherwise have missed.
Larger Image Size For Easier Viewing
Fully compatible with our earlier CV-100 and CV-140 video system centers, the
BF-160 can be easily integrated into the EVIS 100/140 systems used in GI endoscopy
suite. On the other hand, if you’re ready to upgrade and want to maximize the cost-
efficiency of your endoscopy suite, you’ll appreciate the versatility of the BF-160’s
dedicated video system — the CV-160. Designed to accommodate both
bronchovideoscopes and gastrointestinal videoscopes, the CV-160 allows you to
interchange the BF-160 with an EVIS EXERA Gastrointestinal Videoscope, enabling
your EVIS EXERA System to be used for both bronchoscopic and gastrointestinal
endoscopic procedures.
Backward Compatibility And Dual-Purpose Design For
Optimal Cost-Efficiency
Because the distal end’s outer diameter measures only 5.3mm, insertion is smooth
and easy — even when penetrating tight recesses of the tracheobronchial tree. At
the same time, this narrower outer diameter also allows you to use the BF-160 for
routine examination of the bronchi.
