Yoursafety and the one of the other road users prevailsover your phone call or the GPS instructions.The quality of your GPS signal may be decreased ifyour vehicle has an athermic windscreen.Software updatesDownload the latest update for free (and check the updateprocedure) on our website www.parrot.com, in the Support& Downloads section. These updates will enable you toreceive new features and improve the product’scompatibility.
English 9Installation Installing the Parrot MINIKIT SmartWarning: Avoid any installation which could hinder theuse of any important command or hinder the driver'svisibility. Do not install the Parrot MINIKIT Smart in theairbag deployment area or in a possible head impactarea. Make sure it is not exposed to the air stream fromair vents. Clean the area with an appropriate cleaning productthen mount the craddle on the windscreen (diagram 1p.4). To do so, press the suction cup against thewindscreen and lift the locking lever until themounting kit is correctly fixed.The cooling and heating cycle inside your vehicle maycause the suction cup to detach from the windscreen.Make sure the suction cup is properly affixed to thewindscreen each time you use the Parrot MINIKITSmart. If it is not the case, the device may fall whilstdriving. Reinstall the suction cup if necessary.Install the Parrot MINIKIT Smart on the mounting kit(diagram 2 p.4). To release the Parrot MINIKIT Smart,press the release buttons on the craddle (diagram 6p.7). Extract the microphone from the Parrot MINIKITSmart and use the provided clips to install it on thesunvisor or on the dashboard (diagram 3 p.5).Installing the phoneInstall your phone on the Parrot MINIKIT Smart byinserting its upper side first (diagram 4 p.6).If your phone supports the GPS feature, install it in aneasily accessible and visible location.Charging the Parrot MINIKIT SmartThe Parrot MINIKIT Smart must be charged beforebeing used for the first time. To do so, plug thecharger into your vehicle’s cigar lighter or connect theParrot MINIKIT Smart to your computer using a USB/mini-USB cable (diagram 5 p.6).The LED located next to the mini-USB port turns onto indicate that the battery is being charged. The LEDturns off once the Parrot MINIKIT Smart is fullycharged. It takes around 2 hours to charge the ParrotMINIKIT Smart. When the battery level is low, the Parrot MINIKITSmart emits a series of beeps. The Parrot MINIKITSmart will turn off approximately 15 minutes later.
10 EnglishCharging the phoneIf your phone can be charged via USB, you can use theParrot MINIKIT Smart to charge it (refer to yourphone user manual for more information). Use thecable provided with your phone if necessary.Note: The Parrot MINIKIT Smart USB port will also allowyou to install the software updates of the kit.Charging your phone is only possible if the ParrotMINIKIT Smart is connected to the cigar lightercharger.Getting started Turning the Parrot MINIKIT Smart on / offHold down the red button for 3 seconds to turn on / off theParrot MINIKIT Smart.Accessing the Parrot MINIKIT Smart menuPress the jog wheel to access the main menu. Browse through the menus by turning the jog wheeland confirm with the green button or by pressing thejog wheel. To exit the menu, press the red button or wait for afew seconds.Connecting a phone by BluetoothBefore using the Parrot MINIKIT Smart with your phone,you first have to pair both devices. The pairing processis only required once. 1. From your Bluetooth® phone, search forBluetooth peripherals.2. Select «Parrot MINIKIT Smart».3. Enter the « 0000 » PIN code if prompted to doso.> The Parrot MINIKIT Smart says « Pairingsuccessful ».Depending on the model of your phone, theconnection will then be automatic as soon as youenter your vehicle.If your phone supports the GPS feature and if it cansend the navigation instructions via Bluetooth (A2DPprofile), the navigation instructions will be played bythe Parrot MINIKIT Smart. Refer to the supportsection of our website www.parrot.com for moreinformation about the Parrot MINIKIT Smartcompatibility.
English 11Synchronising the phonebookWith some Bluetooth phones, the phonebook isautomatically synchronized in the kit’s memory. Note: Only the contacts stored in the phonememory are synchronized. If your contacts arestored in the SIM card memory, transfer them intothe phone memory.If your phone doesn’t support automaticsynchronization, you can also send contacts manuallyfrom your mobile to the car kit via Bluetooth. To doso, select Receive contacts. Refer to your phones’user guide for more information about sendingcontacts (via Object Push).Recording voice tagsAll your contacts, after automatic synchronization orObject Push process, are directly provided with avoice tag in the Parrot MINIKIT Smart. Consequently,you don’t have to record your own voice tag on eachcontact to make a call via the voice recognitionprocess.However, if the Parrot MINIKIT Smart doesn’tunderstand the name of one of your contacts or if avoice tag is too long, you can record a new one. Todo so, select Add voice tags and then select thecontact and record your voice.Phone Receiving a callAn incoming call is indicated by a vocal message. The nameof the caller is announced if his number is recorded in thephonebook of the phone connected to the Parrot MINIKITSmart.If you want to answer the call, press the green button.If you want to refuse the call, press the red button. Making a callTo make a call via voice recognition:1. To start the voice recognition feature, press thegreen button. > The Parrot MINIKIT Smart asks you the nameof the contact you want to call.2. Say the name of the contact and the type ofnumber («Work», «Cellphone»...) if there areseveral numbers associated to your contact.> The call is automatically launched if the voicetag is correctly understood. > If it is not the case, a confirmation message isasked by the kit. Confirm by saying «Yes» or«Call».

Once the contact chosen, press the green key tocall this contact or use the jog wheel to choosebetween different numbers of the same contact.Hold down the green key of the Parrot MINIKIT Smartfor two seconds to redial the last dialled number.Using the Parrot MINIKIT Smart while on a callNote: Navigation instructions are not played by the ParrotMINIKIT Smart during a call.Use the jog wheel during a call to adjust thecommunication volume. The volume setting is savedfor subsequent calls.During a call, if you want to continue the conversationon your phone (private conversation), press the greenbutton.During a call, the Parrot Parrot MINIKIT Smart allowsyou to send DTMFs to manage your voice mail forexample. To do so, press the jog wheel to access theDTMF menu. Troubleshooting The kit says «Memory full»You can pair up to ten devices. If you attempt to pair aneleventh phone, the kit says «memory full». You must clearthe memory by holding down both the red button and thejogwheel for three seconds. Doing so also clears all thecontacts.The kit seems to be frozenIn case of malfunction, you can reboot the Parrot MINIKIT Smart. To do so, press the Reset button (diagram 7 p.7).The kit does not seem to work with my phoneMake sure your phone is compatible with the ParrotMINIKIT Smart. To do so, refer to the compatibility listof the Parrot MINIKIT Smart available on our websitewww.parrot.com, in the Support & Downloads section.If your phone is compatible with the Parrot MINIKITSmart, make sure you have the latest software version onyour Parrot MINIKIT Smart. Pour cela, appuyezsur la molette et sélectionnez Recevoir des contacts.Consultez la notice de votre téléphone pour connaîtrela procédure d’envoi de contacts par Bluetooth.Enregistrer des empreintes vocalesTous vos contacts, après synchronisation ou envoipar Bluetooth, sont automatiquement dotés d’uneempreinte vocale dans le Parrot MINIKIT Smart. Vousn’avez donc pas à enregistrer votre propre empreintesur chaque contact avant de procéder à un appel parreconnaissance vocale.Si le Parrot MINIKIT Smart interprète mal le nom d’unde vos contacts ou si vous souhaitez enregistrer uneempreinte vocale plus courte, il vous est possibled’enregistrer une nouvelle empreinte. Pour cela,appuyez sur la molette et sélectionnez l’optionAjouter des empreintes vocales.Téléphone Recevoir un appelUn appel entrant est indiqué par un message vocal. Le nomdu contact est annoncé si le numéro de ce contact estenregistré dans le répertoire du téléphone connecté auParrot MINIKIT Smart.Si vous souhaitez accepter cet appel, appuyez sur lebouton vert.Si vous souhaitez refuser cet appel, appuyez sur lebouton rouge. Emettre un appelPour émettre un appel par reconnaissance vocale:1. Appuyez sur le bouton vert pour initier leprocessus de reconnaissance vocale. > Le nom du contact que vous souhaitez appelervous est demandé.2. Prononcez le nom du contact que vous souhaitezappeler suivi du type de numéro («Bureau»,«Portable»...) si ce contact dispose deplusieurs numéros.> L’appel vers ce contact est automatiquementinitié si la commande vocale a été bien comprise.

Pour cela, appuyezsur la molette au cours de la communication.Problèmes fréquents Le Parrot MINIKIT Smart annonce «Mémoire pleine»Vous pouvez jumeler jusqu’à 10 appareils avec le ParrotMINIKIT Smart. Si vous jumelez un onzième téléphone, le kitannonce « Mémoire pleine ». Vous devez alors effacer lamémoire du Parrot MINIKIT Smart en appuyantsimultanément sur le bouton rouge et sur la molette pendant3 secondes. Ceci effacera aussi tous les contacts.Le Parrot MINIKIT Smart semble bloquéEn cas de problème, vous pouvez redémarrer le ParrotMINIKIT Smart. Para ello,presione con fuerza la ventosa contra el parabrisas ylevante la palanca de bloqueo hasta que el soportequede correctamente sujeto.El ciclo normal de calentamiento y enfriamientodentro de un coche puede hacer que se despegue laventosa. Si la ventosa no se ha adheridocorrectamente a la superficie en la que se hacolocado, el aparato se podría caer al tomar unacurva o al pasar por un badén. Compruebe que laventosa está bien adherida siempre que utilice elParrot MINIKIT Smart. Vuelva a instalarla si esnecesario.Coloque el Parrot MINIKIT Smart sobre el soportede montaje (esquema 2 p.4).
