Power connection
• Use only the power source marked on the AC adaptor.
Failure to do so may result in overheating which can
cause a fire.
• Using an AC adaptor other than the one supplied or one
sold separately as an accessory may result in a fire.
• Never touch the AC adaptor plug with wet hands, as this
can cause electric shock.
• Do not charge the product when it is wet, as this can
cause electric shock or a short circuit.
• Clean the AC adaptor regularly to remove any dust or
other contaminants by disconnecting it from the power
outlet, then wiping it with a dry cloth.
• Insert the AC adaptor completely into the power outlet.
Failure to do so may cause electric shock and excessive
heat resulting in a fire.
• When connecting the AC adaptor, do not allow conductive
materials such as rings, bracelets, or keys to touch the

•
plug, as this can cause a short circuit and cause the
conductive material to overheat, resulting in burns.
Use the AC adaptor in a well-ventilated room (5°C 40°C) and out of direct sunlight.
When disconnecting the AC adaptor from the power
outlet, take hold of the AC adaptor to disconnect it,
otherwise fire, burns, or electric shock may result.
Disconnect the AC adaptor from the power outlet if it emits
smoke, an abnormal smell, or makes an unusual noise.
Disconnect the AC adaptor from the power outlet before
cleaning the product or the AC adaptor. Do not use liquid
or aerosol cleaners when cleaning; use a soft, dry cloth.
Battery
• This product uses a battery that is built-in and is not userserviceable. Do not attempt to remove the battery
yourself. The battery may only be replaced at an
authorised service centre.

Contact an authorised service centre if the battery needs
to be replaced.
• Do not charge the battery using methods other than
those specified. If the battery is not charged using one of
the specified methods, electrolyte leakage, generation of
heat, ignition or rupture may result.
• Should the electrolyte from the battery get into your eyes,
do not rub your eyes. Immediately flush your eyes with
clean water and see a doctor for medical treatment as
soon as possible.

Medical devices and facilities
• Consult the manufacturer of any personal
medical devices, such as pacemakers or
implanted cardioverter defibrillators to
determine if they are adequately shielded
from external RF (radio frequency) energy.
• Medical device manufacturers
recommend a minimum separation of 15 cm between a
wireless device and an implanted medical device, such
as a pacemaker or implanted cardioverter defibrillator, to
avoid potential interference with the medical device. Use

FCC notice
FCC notice
This product complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules.
Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
(1) This product may not cause harmful interference, and
(2) This product must accept any interference received,
including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the
manufacturer responsible for compliance could void the
user’s authority to operate this product.
This product has been tested and found to comply with the
limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the
FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference in a residential
installation. This product generates, uses and can radiate
radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not
occur in a particular installation.
If this product does cause harmful interference to radio or
television reception, which can be determined by turning the
product off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct
the interference by one or more of the following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the product and
receiver.
• Connect the product to an outlet on a circuit different
from that to which the receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician
for help.

FCC RF exposure information
FCC RF exposure information
This product is a radio transmitter and receiver.
When it is on, it receives and transmits RF energy.
When you are on a phone call, the system handling your call
controls the power level at which the product transmits. This
product is designed and manufactured not to exceed the
emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy
set by the Federal Communications Commission of the U.S.
Government.
The guidelines are based on standards that were developed
by independent scientific organization through periodic and
thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The standards
include a substantial safety margin designed to assure the
safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.
The exposure standard for wireless handsets employs a unit
of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or
SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg. The tests
are performed in positions and locations (e.g., at the ear and
worn on the body) as required by the FCC for each model.
The highest SAR value for this product as reported to the
FCC when tested for use at the ear is 0.613 W/kg, and when
worn on the body in a holder or carry case, is 0.664 W/kg.
This product was tested for typical body-worn operations with
the product kept 1.0 cm from the body. To maintain
compliance with FCC RF exposure requirements, use
accessories that maintain a 1.0 cm separation distance
between the user’s body and the product. Failure to observe
these instructions could result in your RF exposure
exceeding the relevant guideline limits. The use of beltclips,
holsters and similar accessories should not contain metallic
components in its assembly. The use of accessories that do
not satisfy these requirements may not comply with FCC RF
exposure requirements, and should be avoided.
The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this
product with all reported SAR levels evaluated as in
compliance with the FCC RF emission guidelines.
15
SAR information on this product is on file with the FCC and
can be found under the Display Grant section of
http://www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/
after searching on FCC ID UCE211048A.
Additional information on Specific Absorption Rates (SAR)
can be found on the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet
Association (CTIA) web site at http://www.phonefacts.net.
SAR (Specific Absorption Rates)
This product is a radio transmitter and receiver. When it is on,
it receives and transmits RF energy. When you are on a
phone call, the system handling your call controls the power
level at which the product transmits. This product is designed
not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves
recommended by international guidelines. These guidelines
were developed by the independent scientific organization
ICNIRP and include safety margins designed to assure the
protection of all persons, regardless of age and health.
The guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the
Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit for mobile
devices is 2 W/kg and the highest SAR value for this product
when tested at the ear was 0.546 W/kg*1.
For body-worn operation, this product has been tested and
meets RF exposure guidelines when used with an accessory
containing no metal and when the product is positioned a
minimum of 10 mm from the body. In this case, the highest
tested SAR value is 0.726 W/kg. Use of other accessories
may not ensure compliance with RF exposure guidelines. As
SAR is measured utilizing the product’s highest transmitting
power the actual SAR of this product while operating is
typically below that indicated above. This is due to automatic
changes to the power level of the product to ensure it only
uses the minimum level required to reach the network.
16
The World Health Organization has stated that present
scientific information does not indicate the need for any
special precautions for the use of mobile devices. They note
that if you want to reduce your exposure then you can do so
by limiting the length of calls or using a hands-free device to
keep the mobile device away from the head and body.
*1 The tests are carried out in accordance with international
guidelines for testing.
