For more information about RF exposure, please visit the FCC website at www.fcc.gov FCC RF EXPOSURE INFORMATION In August 1996 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States with its action in Report and Order FCC 96-326 adopted an updated safety standard for human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic energy emitted by FCC regulated transmitters. Those guidelines are consistent with the safety standard previously set by both U.S. and international standards bodies. The design of this phone complies with the FCC guidelines and these international standards. Use only the supplied or an approved antenna. Unauthorized antennas, modifications, or attachments could impair call quality, damage the phone, or result in violation of FCC regulations. Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna. If a damaged antenna comes into contact with the skin, a minor burn may result. Please contact your local dealer for replacement antenna. Body-worn Operation This device was tested for typical body-worn operations using the belt-clip placed 2.2 cm. from the body. To comply with RF exposure requirements, a minimum separation distance of 2.2 cm. must be maintained between the user’s body and the belt-clip/holster, including the antenna. The use of other belt-clip/holsters and other non-tested accessories may not comply with FCC RF Exposure requirements and should be avoided. WARNING! Read this information before using your phone

Those guidelines are consistent with the safety standardspreviously set by both U.S. and international standards bodies:ANSI C95.1 (1992) *NCRP Report 88 (1986) *ICNIRP (1996) *Those standards were based on comprehensive and periodic evaluationsof the relevant scientific literature. For example, over 120 scientists, engineers, and physicians from universities, government healthagencies, and industry reviewed the available body of research todevelop the ANSI Standard (C951).The design of your phone complies with the FCC guidelines (and those standards).Q ;American National Standards Institute;National Council on Radiation protection and measurements;International Commission on Nonionizing Radiation Protection.ANTENNA CAREUse only the supplied or an approved replacement antenna.Unauthorized antennas, modifications, or attachments could damagethe phone and may violate FCC regulations.SAFETY INFORMATION FORWIRELESS HANDHELD PHONESDRIVING SAFETYTalking on the phone while driving is extremely dangerous and is illegalin some states. Remember, safety comes first. Check the laws andregulations on the use of phones in the areas where you drive. If in-vehicle wireless equipmentis improperly installed and the air bag inflates, serious injury couldresult.WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions may lead to seriouspersonal injury and possible property damage.SAFETY INFORMATION FORWIRELESS HANDHELD PHONESELECTRONIC DEVICESMost modern electronic equipment is shielded from RF energy. However, certain electronic equipment may not be shielded against theRF signals from your wireless phone.PacemakersThe Health Industry Manufacturers Association recommends that aminimum separation of six (6? inches be maintained between a hand-heldwireless phone and a pacemaker to avoid potential interferencewith the pacemaker. These recommendations are consistent with theindependent research by and recommendations of WirelessTechnology Research. If you have a pacemaker: ALWAYS keep the phone more than six inches from your pace-makerwhen the phone is turned on. Do not carry the phone in a breast pocket.
35 Use the ear opposite the pacemaker to minimize the potential forinterference. If you have any reason to suspect that interference is taking place, turn your phone OFF immediately.Hearing AidsSome digital wireless phones may interfere with some hearing aids. Inthe event of such interference, you may want to consult your serviceprovider (or call the customer service line to discuss alternatives).SAFETY INFORMATION FORWIRELESS HANDHELD PHONESELECTRONIC DEVICESOther Medical DevicesIf you use any other personal medical device, consult the manufacturerof your device to determine if they are adequately shielded fromexternal RF energy Your physician may be able to assist you in obtainingthis information.Turn your phone OFF in healthcare facilities when any regulations post-edin these areas instruct you to do so. Hospitals or healthcare facilitiesmay be using equipment that could be sensitive to external RFenergy.VehiclesRF signals may affect improperly installed or inadequately shieldedelectronic systems in motor vehicles. Check with the manufacturer orits representative regarding your vehicle. You should also consult themanufacturer of any equipment that has been added to your vehicle.Posted FacilitiesTurn your phone OFF where posted notices so require.SAFETY INFORMATION FORWIRELESS HANDHELD PHONESOTHER SAFETY GUIDELINESAircraftFCC Regulations prohibit using your phone while in the air. Sparks in such areascould cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death.Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often, but not always, clearly marked. They include fueling areas such as gas stations; belowdeck on boats; fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities; vehiclesusing liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane); areaswhere the air contains chemicals or articles, such as grain, dust, ormetal powders; and any other area where you would normally beadvised to turn off your vehicle engine.SAFETY INFORMATION FORWIRELESS HANDHELD PHONESPRECAUTIONSYour Handheld Portable Telephone is a high quality piece of equipment. Before operating the equipment, read all instructions and cautionarymarkings on (1) AC Adaptor (2) Battery and (3) Product UsingBattery.1.
