Leaving the keyfob in the field of a reader will reduce battery life. Peel back the label on the back of the keyfob to reveal a screw. Open the case by inserting a flat head screw driver into the groove below the keyring loop and gently prise case open. Remove the circuit board, taking care not to touch any components by handling only the edges of the board, then remove the batteries by prising them out from the retainers. Replace the batteries, avoiding direct handling, then replace the circuit board, casing, screw and label. Battery life is approximately 5 years.
