Prolonged or repeated skin contact can result in irritation, drying and cracking of the skin. Low concentrations can cause mild irritation of eyes, nose and throat; high concentrations can result in headaches. Ingestion of large quantities can cause drowsiness, nausea and vomiting. Rev1, 6/13 Section IV: First Aid Measures Eye contact: Skin contact: Rinse eyes with water for at least 15 minutes, lifting lids occasionally to remove particles. Get medical attention. Wash exposed areas with soap and water. Should irritation persist, get medical attention. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes and wash items before reuse. Inhalation: Ingestion: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration; if breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention. As in any fire, firefighters should wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in full pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH-approved (or equivalent) protective gear. Section VI: Accidental Release Measures Personal precautions: Cleanup: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as specified in Section VIII of this MSDS. Flush into a sewer, using plenty of water. Otherwise, absorb any spills with vermiculite or another inert material, then place in a container for chemical waste. Prevent spills from entering potable water supplies or streams. Finish clean-up by spreading water on the contaminated surface. Eliminate all ignition sources.
