INTRODUCTION
The lower oven bake element on model JB400DP
heats 8 ounces of water to steam, making it easier
to clean light soiling off the standard porcelain
oven interior. The Steam Clean cycle performs
best on new spills or soils. Burned-on food is more
dif cult to remove.
TO BEGIN STEAM CLEAN CYCLE
Note: The range should be at room temperature
before beginning the Steam Clean cycle. If the
oven is too hot, “hot” will appear on the display
and the cycle will not activate until the oven cools
down.
Remove racks, accessories, and any cookware 1.
from the oven cavity.
Note: Do not add cleaning solutions or chemicals
of any kind to the water.
Pour 8 oz. of water into the recessed area of 2.
the oven oor.

THE STEAM CLEAN OPERATION
The Steam Clean feature operates in the following
manner:
The control checks for the oven temperature to 1.
be less than 120oF using the sensor circuit. If the
temperature is greater than 120oF, the control
displays “Hot” and does not allow the cycle to
begin.
The control checks that the door switch is 2.
closed. If the door switch is open, the control
displays “dor” and does not allow the cycle to
begin.
Close the door then press the 3. Steam Clean pad.
Press 4. Start/On pad.
A 30-minute cycle will begin to count down on 5.
the display.
WARNING: The oven bottom and any remaining
water will be very hot. Wait until the end of the
Steam Clean cycle before wiping out the oven.
When the Steam Clean cycle is complete, the 6.
oven control will beep and the Steam Clean
light will blink. Press the Clear/Off pad.
Remove the soils with a scrub brush or a nylon 7.
scouring pad, taking care to keep the door
gasket clean. A steel wool pad should only be
used on the porcelain interior.
Remove any remaining water with a dry cloth 8.
or sponge and leave the door open to air dry.
