§
§

It is important that you are ready to go as soon as your time slot begins. Make sure your
presentation laptop is ready to go and will work seamlessly with the A/V equipment in
Sloan 245. We have reserved Sloan 245 between 11 am and 1 pm on Thursday,
12/07/2017 for you to test run your laptop with the A/V equipment and connections. If
you have problems getting in the room, see Barbara Lyon in EECS Office.
Your team should be ready to start outside of the Sloan 245 door five minutes before
your team’s presentation slot. As soon as the presenting team leaves the room, the
next team should come in and get started ASAP.
Your presentation should be 15 minutes, allowing 5 minutes for Q/A with the judges.
As before, each team member must participate in the team presentation with equal
presentation time among the members. Each student should state his/her name before
presenting.

§

Do NOT plan on a demo during your presentation. However, feel free to include
screenshots/videos of how the project works and invite judges to stop by your poster to
see a demo if you wish.

Poster presentations
§

Poster presentations and project demos will take place in EME Hallways (2nd floor for
CptS). Students, faculty, staff, industry representatives, and judges will pass by and may
stop and talk with you about your project. Feel free to invite fellow students, family and
friends, and colleagues at work to come by and see your project as well as the other
projects.

§

Each team will get a table (with a table number), power cord, a team envelope, and
their poster (your posters should be on your table and ready to go by 10 am). Please go
to EME 102 to check out an easel if needed.

§

Table set up begins at 10:00 am and you should be ready for your poster presentation
by 10:30 am. The team to table assignments are as follows:
Cpt. S 423
1. Team AIRRAID
2. Team Drone
3. Team Gamification
4. Team Mobile Health
5. Team Qwerty
6. Team Shape
7. Team Stack Smashers
8. Team The Help Desk

§

In your team envelope is your name badges including your mentor’s badge. In your
name badge is your lunch ticket. Please arrange with your mentor to have them pick up
their badge and lunch ticket from you.

§

Your boxed lunch will be available at 11:30 am in EME 102A. In single file, give your
lunch ticket to Barb or Ning in exchange for your boxed lunch. One team member may
pick up lunches for the whole team – just bring all the tickets. If you do not have a lunch

ticket or if your ticket says “See Ning”, please come to EME 102 at 12:00 pm wearing
your name badge; we ordered a boxed lunch for you but choices may be limited.
§

The poster competition opens at 10:30 am and closes at 1:00 pm. Posters must be
staffed at all times during the competition. However, teams whose poster and slide
presentations overlap, should temporarily vacate their poster tables to attend their
presentation session (I recommend putting a sign on the table to inform the visitors of
the situation, accordingly).

§

By 1:30 pm, please return your easel (if used), poster board, poster and surge protector
to EME 102A and place them in the appropriate marked place on the table.

Award presentations
Both “Computer Science” and “Electrical and Computer Engineering” best senior design project
awards will be announced and presented at 1:45 pm in ETRL 101. Again, fellow students, family
and friends, and work colleagues are welcome to attend.
Good Luck!
