Metamask Instructions
Block & Mortar currently writes to a test or development Ethereum blockchain called Ganache.
Below are instructions for accessing the blockchain using Metamask, a browser extension for
Chrome and Firefox that will serve as your digital wallet and the interface between the
blockchain and Block & Mortar. To interact with Ganache, we suggest using one of our ten
dummy accounts, which come loaded with fake ether currency. Account information follows.

1. Download ​MetaMask​.

2. After downloading,
a. Open the plugin by clicking on the fox icon in the top right corner of your browser:

Read through and accept Metamask’s terms and conditions.

3. You’ll then be prompted to create a password. Click “import from seed phrase” to access
Block & Mortar’s dummy accounts.

4. Under “Wallet Seed” enter: ​sheriff kick wife donate farm oval come path session

Then enter a password of your choosing.

5. Finally, connect to Block & Mortar’s test blockchain.
a. Click the menu that shows "Main Network" and select ​Custom RPC​.

b. Under the “New RPC URL”, enter: ​http://172.16.27.73:8545​ ​and click “SAVE”.

You’re now ready to use Block & Mortar!
