ROLLER SHADE
Installation Instructions
INSYNCTIVE™PRODUCTS NEEDED
ROLLER SHADE (included): ROLLER SHADE can be automatically raised and lowered to improve the
comfort and convenience of your home.
REMOTE (required — sold separately): REMOTE is used to operate ROLLER SHADE, automatically
sending it up or down. One REMOTE can operate a single ROLLER SHADE or multiple ROLLER SHADES.
REMOTE is also used to teach up to three custom setpoints to ROLLER SHADE.
BRIDGE (optional — sold separately): The main control unit for this system, BRIDGE provides the
communication link to/from ROLLER SHADE or your gateway home automation system. If using a home
automation system with Z-Wave, BRIDGE must be located in the same room and not more than 50 feet
away from the Z-Wave gateway.

INSTALLATION AND SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Get Started
Verify package contents match the packing slip
If you have not done so, open REMOTE package and install battery
Verify there are no obstructions in the path the shade will travel such as latches, locks, window
crank, handles, sensors, window mullions, etc.
2. Determine Your Bracket and Roll Direction
Determine whether you will use and Inside or Outside mount and whether the roll direction will
be Standard or Reverse.
Ensure adequate structure (wood studs, metal studs, etc) are used to mount screws. Expansion
anchors or toggle bolts may be require.
3. Install Shade
Position the shade bracket and use a pencil to mark the bottom of the slotted screw holes.
Center drill at mark and drill a 3/32” hole at each marked screw location.
Mount right and left mount brackets with screws using #2 Phillips screwdriver or electric driver
with 1/4” nut driver. Use expansion anchors or toggle bolts if adequate structure is not present
in the mounting area.
Test fit ROLLER SHADE by hanging it in the brackets. Ensure the spindles on both ends are
seated securely in the brackets. If they are not, safely rotate ROLLER SHADE until the spindles
seat properly and hembar is in open position. Check vertical overlap for evenness and adjust
bracket vertical position accordingly. Install fascia if included per provided instructions.
4. Setup Shade
Complete the following steps to setup your shade
a. Tug shade hembar downward at least six inches to activate the shade. You have one minute
after tug to complete next step.
b. Press and hold UP button on REMOTE until shade completes a quick up/down motion and
then moves back to the top, fully open position.
c. When the shade stops in the fully open position, press and release the DOWN button to
send the shade to its down position. If the preset down position is satisfactory, you may
skip the remaining steps.
d. To change the down position, simultaneously press and hold the CENTER and DOWN
buttons until the LED on the remote begins to blink. This should take about 3 seconds.
e. Tug shade hembar downward at least 6 inches to select the shade. The shade will complete
a quick up/down motion to acknowledge it is ready to learn a new limit.
f. Pull the hembar downward to the desired position.
g. Press and hold CENTER button until shade makes a quick up/down movement. This should
take about 3 seconds. The light on the remote will stop blinking.
h. Shade is now ready for use.
5. Test ROLLER SHADE
Press the UP button to move the shade to the fully open position. Verify that the shade does
not rub or interfere with window, wall, or other obstructions.
Press the DOWN button to move the shade to the down position. Verify the shade appears
straight, level, and that the gaps or overlaps are equal. Safely make adjustments to the brackets
as needed.
