Specifications are subject to change without notice KWR101810/01B – Remote Control This remote control offers the following major functions: • • • • • Free air absolute mouse pointer QWERTY keyboard 18 Normal keys to control modern Internet (configurable) Accelerometer data transfer to the host @ 60Hz Pick up – Wake up; Pickup activation of pointer Enabled Devices in the living room including Internet Enabled TV, STB, OTT, Living room PC, etc. via 2.4GHz RF (Chipcon solution) Insert 3 X AAA alkaline battery and wait for remote control auto pairing with USB dongle. The indicator LED on remote control will blinking during pairing with USB dongle. OVU104015/01 – USB Dongle 1. 2. 3. 4. Plug and connect the USB dongle to PC / notebook USB port. The driver will be installed when connect with USB dongle. The dongle will pair with remote control after insert battery into remote control. The dongle is ready to use after the pairing is completed. Note: The remote control must point to dongle for cursor movement. Specifications are subject to change without notice Product Features (remote control & dongle) 1.1 RF to USB RF link support Remote Control, Mouse, and Keyboard profile: On Receiver side, RF link interface to system via USB, follow standard USB HID profile are used: Device Remote Control Mouse QWERTY KEYBOARD Vendor specific USB HID Profile Consumer control HID profile Mouse HID profile Keyboard HID profile Vendor specific HID profile (tilt, distance, accelerometer and multi‐touch) The RF receiving party is included in the USB dongle which is part of the total system. 1.2 Out of Box Experience Both of the remote control and USB receiver will have pairing on startup enabled. No initial pairing is required. See pairing methods below. Specifications are subject to change without notice 1.3 RF Pairing The (re) pairing procedure is only needed to replace a defective item or when factor reset has been initiated. RF pairing is by proximity pairing method, which both the REMOTE CONTROL and receiver needs to be in RF Pairing mode and bring within 2 meters (Configurable distance) apart from the receiver. The Receiver pairing can be enabled by three methods: Press button, Plug in USB or via software controller. Whenever a REMOTE CONTROL in Pairing Mode is within pairing proximity, both REMOTE CONTROL and Receiver will be paired. Press and hold KEYBOARD keys “BACK” and “HOME” for 3 secs. Bring the REMOTE CONTROL within 2 meters distance from the host and make sure no other REMOTE CONTROL is in pairing mode POWER LED will start blinking fast during RF Pairing mode. Enable pairing on USB dongle: 3 methods are available (can be used simultaneously) • Plug-in Pairing • Button paring • Host-command (Software) pairing There are 2 timeouts: • Virgin-pairing – When first time pairing, timeout is 30 minutes • Normal pairing – Timeout is 30 seconds All timeouts are adjustable in the configuration file. Enable Plugin and Button pairing are configurable in config file. Default all enabled. Distance pairing is available (will only pair with devices within certain range) Press pairing button on USB dongle, or (re) plug USB cable in host system. Upon completion of pairing, the POWER LED will stop blinking and the REMOTE CONTROL will exit the RF Pairing mode. 1.4 RF Auto Connection When the RF wakes up or resumes from SLEEP/STANDBY or come back within range of a power on paired Receiver, RF link will be re‐connected automatically. No RF re‐pairing is needed. 1.5 RF Out of Range When the RF link is broken, remote control will go to SLEEP mode after 10 seconds (configurable time). Specifications are subject to change without notice 1.6 RF Pairing Erase When a user needs to reset the pairing address back to the default address, a RF Pairing Erase can be done. When a RF Pairing Erase is completed, the REMOTE CONTROL will only work with an unpaired Receiver (also with default address). Press and hold KEYBOARD keys “BACK” and “HOME” for 10 secs. Release the key. REMOTE CONTROL will do a RF Pairing Erase.
