ENGLISHThis user manual contains instructions for PolarWearLink®+ Bluetooth transmitter.Please follow the pictures on the front cover.Transmitter Parts1. The electrode areas on the reverse side ofthe strap detect heart rate. Picture A1.2. The connector sends the heart rate signalto the wrist unit. Picture A2.Wear the Transmitter1. Wet the electrode areas of the strap underrunning water and make sure that theyare well moistened. Picture B1.2. Attach the connector to the strap. Adjustthe strap length to fit snugly andcomfortably. Picture B2.3. Tie the strap around your chest, justbelow the chest muscles, and attach thehook to the other end of the strap. PictureB3.4. Check that the wet electrode areas arefirmly against your skin and that the Polarlogo of the connector is in a central,upright position. Picture B4.Detach the transmitter connector from thestrap and rinse the strap under running waterafter every use.The Polar WearLink Bluetooth connector canbe used with specific apparel with built-insoft textile electrodes. Wet the electrodes andclip the connector onto the apparel withoutthe strap, with the Polar logo in an uprightposition.ENGLISH1
Care and MaintenanceThe transmitter is a high-tech instrument thatshould be handled with care. The followinginstructions will help you fulfill guaranteeobligations.Detach the transmitter connector from thestrap and rinse the strap under running waterafter every use. Dry the connector with a softtowel. Never use alcohol or any abrasivematerial (steel, wool or cleaning chemicals).Wash the strap regularly in a washingmachine at 40ºC/104ºF or at lest after everyfifth use. This ensures reliable measurementand maximizes the life span of the transmitter.Use a washing pouch. Do not soak, spin-dry,iron, dry clean or bleach the strap. Do not usedetergent with bleach or fabric softener. Neverput the transmitter connector in the washingmachine or drier!Dry and store the strap and connectorseparately. Wash the strap in a washingmachine before long-term storage, and alwaysafter use in pool water with high chlorinecontent.Keep the transmitter in a cool and dry place. Donot store wet in non-breathing material, such asa sports bag. Sweat and moisture keep theelectrodes wet and activated. Do not expose todirect sunlight for extended periods.ServiceENGLISH2
BatteriesTo change the battery yourself, follow belowinstructions. See picture C.1. Using a coin, open the battery cover byturning it counterclockwise to OPEN.2. Insert the battery (CR2025) inside thecover with the positive (+) side againstthe cover. Make sure the sealing ring is inthe groove to ensure water resistance.3. Press the cover back into the connector.4. Use the coin to turn the cover clockwiseto CLOSE.Open the cover only when changing the batteryto ensure a long life, and make sure the sealingring is not damaged, in which case you shouldreplace it with a new one.Battery kits with sealing rings are available atPolar retailers and authorized Polar ServiceCenters. In the USA and Canada, sealing ringsare available at authorized Polar Service Centersonly.Keep batteries away from children. Ifswallowed, contact a doctor immediately.Caution!Danger of explosion if the battery is replacedwith wrong typeBatteries should be disposed of in compliancewith local regulations.PrecautionsFor allergy information, see the listed materialsin Technical Specifications.
