Introduction Thanks for purchasing Primax PHS-3. Your Primax PHS-3 is a stylish headset that enables comfortable handsfree communication with compatible phone that supports Bluetooth technology. The Primax PHS-3 contains the following parts, As shown in Figure 1. 5. Charger connector For battery charging. 6. Earpiece Relays the caller's voice. 7. Earhook Attaches headset to ear. Figure 1 . If the headset can't be connected to the phone during this time, the headset is switched off. . Connectable 3. Volume up Increases the earpiece volume during a call. 4. Volume down Decreases the earpiece volume during a call. . Connection active Blue light flashing every 3 seconds. . Call end Beep once. . Power off Red light flashing for 5 times and beep once. . Low battery Red light flashing every 5 seconds. Blue light flashing every 5 seconds. Pairing the Bluetooth headset to a Bluetooth mobile phone Pairing is the process of linking the headset with your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. After this process is completed, you can use the Primax PHS-3 only with this paired mobile phone. If you want to use Primax PHS-3 with another mobile phone, you must repeat the pairing process again. The Primax PHS-3 can be paired with up to 8 compatible phones but connected to only one phone at a time. 1. Make sure that the compatible phone is turned on and within 10 meter of the headset. 2.Turn on Primax PHS-3 and make sure the headset is charged. Press and hold volume up key and volume down key together for 3 seconds. The Blue and red LEDs will flash alternatively. Release both buttons and the headset is now in pairing mode. 8. Microphone Picks up your voice input. 3. Activate the Bluetooth connection from the phone. You may need to consult with mobile phone user guide of your phone regarding how to do that. Getting started 4. Set the phone to start searching for Bluetooth devices as instructed in user guide of your phone. Package Content . PHS-3 Headset . Charger . User guide Charging the battery Before using Primax PHS-3, you must charge the product for approximately 2 hours. When the battery is fully charged, it provides up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time. 1. Connect the charger cable to Primax PHS-3 as shown in the Figure 1. 2. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet. When Primax PHS-3 is charging, red indicator light will display. 3. When the battery is fully charged, the blue indicator light is displayed. Unplug the charger cable from the wall outlet and Primax PHS-3. 5. Select the Primax PHS-3 from the list. 6. Enter the pin code 0000 to connect (or "pair") Primax PHS-3 to the phone. Primax PHS-3 beeps once and an active Bluetooth connection is displayed by a blinking blue indicator light. If Primax PHS-3 is turned on within 10 meters of several paired phones, the headset will try to connect to the last connected phone within 10 seconds. If the headset cannot connect to the last connected phone(for example, phone is turned off or it rejects the connection), it remains connectable for other phones for approximately 10 minutes, which is displayed by the blinking blue indicator light. If the connection cannot be made during this time, the headset is turned off automatically. 7. Some phones require additional step to connect the headset under the Bluetooth menu, please make sure the device connection is activated. 8. Headset is ready to be used. Disconnecting the Bluetooth headset from the phone To disconnect Primax PHS-3 from the phone, do one of the following: 1 Turn off Primax PHS-3. 2. Disconnect Primax PHS-3 in the phone menu. Answering and ending a call When you receive a call, you hear a ringing tone through the headset. Press the power/send/end key to answer the call or to end the currently active call. You can also answer and end the call using the phone. 3. Move the headset more than 10 meters away from the phone. Rejecting a call Primax PHS-3 is also disconnected if the battery becomes flat. When you receive an incoming call that you do not want to answer, simply press the power/send/end key and hold it for 3 seconds. Note that you do not need to delete the pairing with the headset to disconnect it. When you reconnect a paired headset, you will not be asked for its pin code. Redialing the last dialed number Reconnecting the paired Bluetooth headset to the compatible phone Muting an ongoing call To reconnect Primax PHS-3 to the last connected phone, turn on Primax PHS-3. Otherwise, make the connection in the phone menu as instructed in the user guide of your phone. Powering Up To turn on Primax PHS-3 Press and hold the power key for 3 seconds. Primax PHS-3 beeps and the blue indicator light starts blinking. The blinking continues for approximately 10 minutes or until the headset is connected to a compatible phone. If the headset cannot be connected to the phone during this time, the headset is turned off. To turn off Primax PHS-3 Press and hold the power key for 3 second, Primax PHS-3 beeps and the red indicator light is displayed briefly. Making calls When Primax PHS-3 is connected to the phone, make a call by using the phone in the normal way. Note that the call functions depend on the phone that you use. Press the volume up key for 3 seconds when no call is in progress. You can mute or unmute the ongoing call by pressing the power/send/end and volume up keys together for 3 seconds when a call is in progress. Voice dialing (Phone dependant) When no call is in progress, press volume down key and hold it for 3 seconds until there is a tone that indicates that you can start saying the voice tag. The phone plays the voice tag and dials the related phone number. Adjusting the earphone volume Press the volume up key to increase or the volume down key to decrease the volume. Switching the call between phone and headset Press the power/send/end and volume down keys together for 3 seconds or use the respect function in your phone. Switching ongoing call and waiting call When a call is in progress, there is another call is coming in. Simply press power/send/end key and hold it for more than 5 seconds or use the respect function in your phone. Three way conference call When a call is in progress, three way conference call is activated by pressing volume down key for 3 seconds.
