This monitor should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on themarking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supplied in your home,consult your monitor dealer or local power company.9. This monitor is equipped with a three-wire grounding type plug, a plug having athird (grounding) pin. This plug will only fit into a grounding-type power outlet.This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet. contactyour electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose ofthe grounding-type plug.10.Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. 11. For added protection for this monitor, when it is left unattended and unused for longperiods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet. This will prevent damage to themonitor due to power-line surges.12. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result into fire orelectric shock.13. Never push objects of any kind into this monitor through cabinet slots as they maytouch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in a fire orelectric shock. 2. InstallationNOTE: Before installing this monitor, please refer to the user's guides of yourcomputer and video adapter to make sure if these equipments requireany change of setting.2.1. PackageAfter unpacking the shipping carton, check if you have received the followingitems:●    Your monitor. ●    USB software (Only for USB model)●    This user's manual. ●    USB cable (Only for USB model)●    Power cord.If any of these item are missing, please contact your dealer for technical supportand customer service.NOTE: Be sure to save original box and all packing material for futuretransport of the monitor.2.2 Precautions – when using this monitorNOTE: when positioning this equipment ensure that the mains plug and socketis easily accessible.• To avoid eyes fatigue, do not use the color monitor in bright backgroundsunlight or other light sources shine directly on the screen.• Do not place the monitor near a heat source.• Set up in a good ventilated environment, and ensure that the ventilationopenings of the monitor are not covered. The heat from the monitor candissipate properly.• Keep the monitor away from high capacity transformer, electric motor andother strong magnetic field.• The monitor should not be used in damp, dusty or dirty area.2.3. 3. Connection to the computer   3.1 Connecting the signal cable and the power cableFollow the steps below to connect these cablea. Plug the 15-pin monitor signal cable into the video signal connector located at therear of the system, and lock the two screws to ensure firm grounding.b. This monitor is equipped with a universal power supply (100-240V).  Please plugpower cord into the power supply of PC or into the well outlet of the power. A three-wire cord is provided as a safety precaution to ensure proper electrical grounding.3.2 Connecting the microphone and speaker cable (optional)a. Connect one end of the microphone cable to the connector on the back of theMonitor and the other end to the sound card of computer.b. Connect two of the speaker cable to each side of speakers connector of monitor andthe third speaker cable to the sound card of computer.c. DC15V output: (On the back of the monitor or right side of the monitor) The DC15V/250mA output provides power only for multimedia speaker. To connect the DC15V output from monitor to speaker sets.  NOTE: How to attach and connect the optional speakers to your monitor. Please referto the user’s manual of speaker.4. Front control locations and functions4.1 OperationPower ON/OFF SwitchThis button is used to turn the monitor on and off.Power (DPMS) indicatorThis indicator lights up green when the monitor operates normally. If the monitoris in DPMS (Energy saving) mode (stand-by/suspend/Power off), this indicatorcolor changes to orange.Using the volume and Volume muting (Optional function)1. When turn the knob clockwise to increase or counter clockwise to decrease thevolume up and down. (only for one key model)2. Volume mute: This control turns the speakers and headphone terminal soundON or OFF. When used withmultimedia computers.4.4 Self test patternThe monitor may display a blue, green and red test pattern. This is to indicate thatthe monitor is functioning properly, but the computer’s video signal is notreaching the monitor. In this case, please make sure the video cable is properlyconnected. The test pattern will disappear when the monitor is able to receive thevideo signal. However, if the test pattern does not display all three colors (blue,green and red), the monitor is not functioning properly. Please contact your localdealer for assistance.4.5 Safety protectionThe safety protection function is protect of the monitor itself. When frequency ofvideo signal from computer’s was out of range, (please refer to monitor”specifications”) The monitor will protect by itself and a warning message of OSDwill appear on the screen, warning you to resetting monitor type on your computer.4.6 Timing guideThis multi-scanning monitor can automatically detect and display several videomodes. This monitor offers 14 to 16 factory preset modes that cover most of thecommon video modes supported by popular graphics adapters.
