Bill of Material RFID Reader HF-AM2-G2 is composed of : -  an interface board, connected in the Workabout Pro G2 Handheld computer -  a reader board, with its built-in antenna -  a flex cable, which connects the two boards.  RFID Reader HF-AM2-G2 – User Manual TS-A00350-A00  Page 7/19 III. Hardware installation III.1. Preparing Before installing a module in the WORKABOUT PRO G2, all power sources must be turned off.  Remove the batteries. If your unit is using AC power, disconnect it.  Slide the switch to position OFF to shut off internal battery power      Remove the End cap at the top of the WORKABOUT PRO G2 Remove the backplate

Reader Board installation The reader board intends to fit in a specific endcap which depends on the desired configuration. Each following paragraph describes how to assemble every configuration. III.3.1. HF-AM2-G2 Endcap assembly  Here are the required parts     -  A multipurpose endcap -  A rubber -  A sticker      Insert the reader board in the rubber  Inject silicon on the 3 internal sides of the endcap
 RFID Reader HF-AM2-G2 – User Manual TS-A00350-A00  Page 9/19  Place the rubber inside the endcap…  and press strongly    Put silicon between the rubber and the reader board ….  in order to ensure a good holding    Stick the sticker on the top of the endcap

SAGEM endcap dual reader with slot assembly The following drawing shows the whole assembly   Here are the required parts     -  1 MSO sensor -  1 Top moulding -  1 MSO plate -  1 biometric endcap -  1 8-ways MSO cable -  4 self tapping screws -  4 thorx screws -  4 washers -  1 smart card board -  3 gaskets -  1 rubber -  1 reader board
 RFID Reader HF-AM2-G2 – User Manual TS-A00350-A00  Page 11/19 The first step is to build the fingerprint unit (top- subassembly)  Here are the required parts     -  1 MSO sensor -  1 Top moulding -  1 MSO plate -  1 8-ways MSO cable -  4 self tapping screws -  4 washers -  2 gaskets      Prepare the gasket and the MSO sensor  Place the gasket on the sensor as shown    Place the sensor in the top moulding  Check the gasket positioning
 RFID Reader HF-AM2-G2 – User Manual TS-A00350-A00  Page 12/19  Connect the MSO cable to the MSO sensor  Prepare the MSO plate and its gasket    Put the gasket on the plate as shown  Place the cover on the top moulding    Screw the 4 self tappings screws with their washer  Put silicon in the MSO cable window to ensure proper sealing
 RFID Reader HF-AM2-G2 – User Manual TS-A00350-A00  Page 13/19 It is now time to perform final assembly:  Insert the reader board in the rubber   Insert the assembly in the endcap slot     Stick the gasket around the smart card board connector   Place the smart card board on the top of the endcap     The smart card board and the reader board are plugged together with a 8-ways SIL connector   Pass the 8 way connector of the fingerprint unit through the window of the endcap
 RFID Reader HF-AM2-G2 – User Manual TS-A00350-A00  Page 14/19  Close the endcap with the fingerprint unit and screw the 4 thorx screws  Finish the endcap sealing with a silicon injection in the 8-way cable window.     III.4. Endcap connection The endcap has to be connected to the interface board: III.4.1. HF-AM2-G2 Endcap Connect the flex cable from the interface board to the reader board.   Screw then endcap

And the MSO cable in the dedicated connector Screw then endcap         III.5. Final steps  Slide the switch located in the battery casing to position ON  Put back the batteries and close the battery cover.
