PinPoint Asset Tag
The PinPoint Asset Tag is a lightweight battery powered Wi-Fi
tag. It is designed to last for up to 3 years depending on the
check-in configuration and the motion of the tag. The tag
employs an on-board motion detector to maximize battery life.
The PinPoint Asset Tag transmits low battery alerts to enable
timely tag replacement.
The PinPoint Asset Tag is part of the PinPoint Asset Tracking
and Management Solutions. The tag aids in locating and
securing mobile assets and incorporates tamper detection
technology that alerts system users when a tag has been removed
from an asset.
Mounting Tags
Tags are small and can be attached to assets
using the adhesive tape that can be purchased
with the tags. Tags can also be mounted with a
lanyard or zip tie through the opening at the
top of the tag.
To apply the adhesive pad to the tag
1. Remove an adhesive pad from the strip of paper.
2. Place the tag face down.
3. Line the adhesive pad up with the back of the tag.
4. Apply the adhesive pad.
5. Verify that the pad is applied correctly and is not hanging over the
sides of the tag.
6. If correctly applied the tag will activate and auto enroll into the
Mobile Resource Management software. Refer to the
PinPoint Asset Tracking and Management Solutions
Configuration and Calibrations User Guide
To attach a tag to a asset using an adhesive pad
1. Obtain the asset to which you want to apply the tag. The asset
surface must be clean, dry and free of condensed moisture.
2. Remove the plastic covering from the outside of the adhesive pad.
3. Firmly attach the tag to the asset. Ideal application temperature
range is 70°F to 100°F (21°C to 38°C).
4. Press firmly and hold for approximately 10 seconds to activate the
pressure sensitive adhesive.
5. After application, the bond strength will increase as the adhesive
flows onto the surface. At room temperature, approximately 50% of
ultimate bond strength will be achieved after 20 minutes, 90% after
24 hours and 100% after 72 hours.
Mounting Tags Using a Lanyard or Zip Tie
Tags can also be mounted with a lanyard or zip tie through the
opening at the top of the tag.
Cleaning Tags
To clean a tag after use
1. If necessary, remove the tag from the asset. You can clean the tag on the asset
if you prefer.
2. Wet a cotton swab or paper towel with Isopropyl Alcohol.
3. Cleanse the tag.
4. Cleanse the surface of the asset.
5. Let the tag and the asset surface dry before reapplying the tag with a new
adhesive pad.
