    RM-1 GETTING STARTED GUIDE Warnings and Precautions   WARNING: The RM-1 is designed with adequate safeguards to protect users from shock and other hazards when used as specified within this documentation. If users use the RM-1 in a manner not specified by this document, the protection provided by the RM-1 may be impaired. Please read the documentation before using the RM-1.  WARNING:  The RM-1 device is designed to function with the Tyco battery pack number 610-180007-00 ONLY.   WARNING:  The battery used in this device may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated.  DO NOT disassemble, heat above 60c, crush or puncture, short circuit external contacts, or dispose in fire or water. Class 2 Laser Products •  Complies with 21CFR1040.10 and 1040.11 except for deviations pursuant to Laser Notice No. 50, dated July 26, 2001. • EN60825-1:1994+A1:2002+A2:2001 • IEC60825-1: 2001-08 •  Caution:  Use of controls, adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous laser light exposure. •  Class 2 laser scanners use a low power, visible light diode.  As with any very bright light source, such as the sun, the user should avoid staring directly into the light beam.  Momentary exposure to a Class 2 laser is not known to be harmful. •  Complies with FDA standards for laser products except for deviations under Laser Notice 50, dated 7/26/2001. Battery Operation The battery voltage should be in the range 2.5V to 4.2V when inserted into the RM-1.  User Serviceability Do not disassemble the RM-1 device. It contains no user-serviceable parts.  Please return to the factory for repair. Liquids  Avoid spilling liquids on the RM-1.  Liquids spilled onto the RM-1 could short circuit it. If liquids are accidentally spilled, let the RM-1 dry before use. Rated IPX0. Battery Disposal Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions. Battery Charger Consult the manufacturer’s operational manual for battery charger operational procedures.

Insert battery into the RM-1, ensuring the battery pack is latched properly.  2.  Press the black power button on the side of the device.  The RM-1 device will power on and display the RM-1 Inventory Menu. 3.  To put the RM-1 into sleep mode, the user should “tap” the power button.  The user can return the RM-1 unit into operational mode by tapping the power button again. 4.  The user can cold boot the RM-1 unit by holding down the power button for approximately 8 seconds. 5.  It is recommended that users put the RM-1 unit in sleep mode by tapping the power button prior to removing the battery pack.  6.  Users should consult the RGIS RM-1 Users Guide for more detailed operational instructions. 7. Do not attempt to disassemble the RM-1 Audit unit without contacting the RGIS Service Depot.
