50 meter wireless phone line User Manual DEAR CUSTOMER We would like to thank you for purchasing our Wireless Phone Jack and/or an additional Extension unit. We hope you will enjoy it. The Wireless Phone Jack is a wireless and cable free extension of the phone socket or VoIP adapter for an ordinary phone, modem, fax or satellite/cable set top box with integrated modem. Please read the following thoroughly and observe the operating instructions and information provided. BA SE UNI T INSTALLATION 1) Connect the enclosed phone line cord to the Base unit and connect the other end to the phone wall socket.* 2) If you have a phone connected to the wall socket, unplug it and connect it to the Base unit instead (remove plug adapter before connecting to the Base unit). 3) Connect the Base unit to a power outlet and switch power on. The light on top of the Base unit should now glow green. The Base unit is now installed. 3) Phone wall socket Power outlet 1) 2) Phone, dial-up modem, fax *NOTE: Works also as a wireless extension to a VoIP Terminal Adapter EXTENSIO N UNIT INSTALLATION The Extension unit can be connected to either a normal phone, dial-up modem, fax or satellite/cable set top box. 1) Plug the phone line cord from your phone, dial-up modem, fax or satellite/cable set top box into the Extension unit. 1) Power supply plug Phone, dial-up modem, fax or satellite/cable set top box 2) Plug the Extension unit into a power outlet and switch the power on. The light on top of the Extension unit will after a short period. The Extension unit is now installed and your Wireless Phone Jack is now ready for use. Computer (dial-up modem, fax or satellite/ cable set top box) 2) Extension unit 3) IN STALLATIO N OF EXTRA EX TENSION UNITS 1) Make sure the existing Wireless Phone Jack system (base and extension unit) is powered on. 2) Unplug any cords attached to the Base unit (these will be connected again later). 3) Plug the extra Extension unit into a power outlet near the Base unit and switch power on. This will activate a red light on the Extension unit. 4) Plug one end of the supplied phone line cord into the Base unit and the other end into the extra Extension unit. A red light will be activated before changing to yellow. This can take up to a minute. 5) Once the light changes on the Extension unit, unplug the phone line cord between the Base unit and the Extension unit. 6) Replug the cords which you have unplugged. Go to page 4 Extension unit installation to finish the installation process. The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons. “Caution” Main plug is used as disconnect device and it should remain readily operable during intended use. In order to disconnect the apparatus from the mains completely, the mains plug should be disconnected from the mains socket outlet completely. The socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible. Warning: – Do not use this equipment in places where volatile or explosive materials may be present. – This equipment will be inoperable if mains power fails. – For indoor use only. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol that can be found on your product means that the product is covered by the European Directive 2002/96/EC and it indicates that this product should not be disposed of via the normal household waste stream. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health, please separate this product from other waste streams to ensure that it can be recycled in an environmentally sound manner. The Ringer Equivalence Number is an indication of the maximum number of devices allowed to be connected to a telephone interface. Part 68 a) This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules and the requirements adopted by the ACTA. On the bottom of this equipment is a label that contains, among other information, a product identifier in the format US: T7HW400BX3122. If requested, this number must be provided to the telephone company. b) An applicable certification jacks Universal Service Order Codes (USOC) for the equipment is provided (i.e., RJ11C) in the packaging with each piece of approved terminal equipment. c) A plug and jack used to connect this equipment to the premises wiring and telephone network must comply with the applicable FCC Part 68 rules and requirements adopted by the ACTA. A compliant telephone cord and modular plug is provided with this product. It is designed to be connected to a compatible modular jack that is also compliant. See installation instructions for details. d) The REN is used to determine the number of devices that may be connected to a telephone line. Excessive RENs on a telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most but not all areas, the sum of RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to a line, as determined by the total RENs, contact the local telephone company. [For products approved after July 23, 2001, the REN for this product is part of the product identifier that has the format US: T7HW400BX3122. The digits represented by ## are the REN without a decimal point (e.g., 03 is a REN of 0.3). For earlier products, the REN is separately shown on the label.] e) If this equipment 1.9GHz DECT Telephone Line Extender causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone company will notify you in advance that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. But if advance notice isn't practical, the telephone company will notify the customer as s oon as possible. Also, you will be advised of your right to file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it is necessary. f) The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operations or procedures that could affect the operation of the equipment. If this happens the telephone company will provide advance notice in order for you to make necessary modifications to maintain uninterrupted service. g) Should you experience trouble with this equipment, please contact On2Locate; 567 Highway 51, Ridgeland, MS 39157, USA; Tel: 1-601-499-4478 for repair or warranty information. If the equipment is causing harm to the telephone network, the telephone company may request that you disconnect the equipment until the problem is resolved. h) Please follow instructions for repairing if any (e.g. battery replacement section); otherwise do not alternate or repair any parts of device except specified. i) Connection to party line service is subject to state tariffs. Contact the state public utility commission, public service commission or corporation commission for information. j) NOTICE: If your home has specially wired alarm equipment connected to the telephone line, ensure the installation of this 1.9GHz DECT Telephone Line Extender does not disable your alarm equipment. If you have questions about what will disable alarm equipment, consult your telephone company or a qualified installer. Part 15 This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Privacy of communications may not be ensured when using the equipment.
