Use gradual turns at the corners. This will produce a more consistent signal field and avoid confusing the dog in these areas. IMPORTANT! Do not run the loop within six feet parallel to electrical, telephone, cable TV or any other buried wire you may have in your yard. Do not run one section of wire within 10 feet of an other section or the signal may cancel. Do not run your wire within 10 feet of a neighboring containment system’s boundary wire. Driveways/Sidewalks - When crossing an asphalt driveway, make a 1/2" deep cut across the driveway using a circular saw and masonry blade. Place the wire in the crack and seal with asphalt sealant. On driveways and sidewalks, if an expansion joint is available, simply place the wire in the joint and seal with an outdoor caulk. When crossing gravel, bury the wire at least 3" deep. Use an old garden hose or plastic PVC piping to protect the wire. In water, anchor the wire with large rocks. Protect the wire with an old garden hose or plastic PVC piping. Connecting the Loop to the Transmitter 1. Splice the two ends of the twisted wire to each of the two ends of the loop wire. 2. Drill a hole through the exterior wall or window/ door sill, or run the wire through an existing utility line hole. 3. Connect the twisted wires to the transmitter, either wire to either terminal. (Wire ends must be stripped.) 4. A red indicator light should appear, indicating a continuous wire loop. If no light appears, refer to Section 1, Part C. SECTION 6: THE SIGNAL FIELD The width of the signal field is adjusted using the transmitter’s Field Width Adjustment Knob. Increasing or decreasing the signal field width does not affect the correction intensity. To test the signal field, hook up the test light and slowly walk the collar receiver toward the boundary wire, listening for the warning tone and watching for the test light to light up. The wider the signal Grey Area Denotes Signal Field 6-12 Ft. Twisted Wire field, the less chance there is that a dog can run through the field. OPERATING MODE NOTES - If you are unable to produce a flashing light on the receiver, the receiver most likely needs charging. See Part I., Section 2A. - You can expect 30-90 days on a charge. Charge life is affected by how much time the collar is on, how often the dog tests the containment boundary and how often the dog barks. PART III. BARK-CONTROL OPERATION SECTION 1: SETTING THE STIMULATION LEVEL AND SENSITIVITY A. Setting the Stimulation Level - The barkcontrol feature provides a programmable stimulation option that allows you to choose one of seven levels. Level 1 is lowest; Level 7 is highest. After charging, you will need to pick one of the seven levels. To set a level, first be sure the receiver is flashing green or yellow. Then: The signal field should extend a minimum of 3 ft. on either side of the wire (creating a 6 ft. wide field). An 8-12 ft. wide field is preferred. This ensures that the dog is properly contained and makes the Run-Through Preventer more effective. 1. Slowly pass the magnet by the red paper dot on the side of the receiver. PART II. OPERATING MODES SECTION 1: SELECTING AND CHANGING MODES By combining containment and bark-control features into one system, the CB-100W provides you with a choice of three operating modes: 1) Bark-Control Only 2) Containment Only and 3) Bark Control and Containment Dual Mode. Each mode is indicated by the light on the collar receiver as follows: Bark-Control Only - Flashing GREEN light. Containment Only - Flashing RED light. Dual Mode - Flashing YELLOW light. OFF - No light Note: When the receiver is removed from the wall-mount transmitter/charging unit , its indicator light will be flashing yellow, indicating the unit is in combination containment and bark-control mode. 2. When the receiver light turns solid red, pull the magnet far away from the receiver. 3. The light will stay on for approximately 1 second and will then flash from 1 to 7 times, identifying the level at which the unit was last set (i.e. one flash for Level 1, two flashes for Level 2, etc.) Do not attempt further steps until the light is done flashing. 4. When the light is done flashing, you have five seconds to start changing the receiver to a new level. 5. To change the level, hold the magnet against the red paper dot. The light will start flashing up to 7 times. 6. Pull the magnet away after the number of flashes that matches the stimulation level you want. 7. After about five seconds, the unit will flash back 1 to 7 times to confirm the level you set. To change the mode, simply pass the keychain magnet past the blue paper dot on the receiver. This activates the receiver’s internal magnetic switch. The first time you do this, the receiver will turn OFF, indicated by no receiver light. Each time you pass the magnet past the blue dot, the receiver’s indicator light will change to indicate the current operating mode. B. Setting the Sensitivity - Immediately after setting the stimulation level, you will need to set one of four sensitivity levels. Level 1 is the most sensitive and Level 4 is the least sensitive. (We recommend first setting the sensitivity at Level 2.) To set the sensitivity: 1. After Step 7 above, the light will turn green, go out, then flash back the previous setting. You have five seconds to change the sensitivity level. 2. To change, hold the magnet against the red paper dot. The light will flash green 1-4 times. 3. Remove the magnet after the number of flashes that matches the sensitivity you want. 4. After about five seconds, the unit will flash back 1-4 times to confirm the sensitivity level. IMPORTANT: When using the No-Bark collar on a dog for the first time, start at Stimulation Level 1 and Sensitivity Level 2. Increase the stimulation by one level each day until you reach a satisfactory response from your dog. If your dog does not appear to be reacting to the stimulus, experiment with different combinations of stimulation levels and sensitivity levels. PART IV. TROUBLESHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE A. If the collar appears to not be working: - Adjust the collar fit. - Trim hair or use longer probes - Recharge the battery - Adjust stimulation and/or sensitivity level B. Maintenance The CB-100W system requires very little maintenance. The receiver is waterproof and can be immersed in water. To remove dirt, simply wipe with soap and water. Never place the collar in a dishwasher. The transmitter is not waterproof and needs to be protected from the weather. (See Part I., Section 1A for more transmitter information.)
