Knowing your vehicle8312345678910Your vehicle is equipped with anelectronic engine immobilizer systemto reduce the risk of unauthorizedvehicle use.Your immobilizer system is com-prised of a small transponder in theignition key, and antenna coil in thekey cylinder and Immobilizer ControlUnit (or Smartra Unit).With this system, whenever youinsert your ignition key into the igni-tion switch and turn it to ON, theantenna coil in the ignition switchreceives a signal from the transpon-der in the ignition key and then sendsthe signal to the ECU (EngineControl Unit).The ECU checks the signal whetherthe ignition key is valid.If the key is determined to be valid,the engine will start.If the key is determined to be invalid,the engine will not start.To deactivate the immobilizer sys-tem:Insert the ignition key into the keycylinder and turn it to the ON posi-tion.To activate the immobilizer sys-tem:Turn the ignition key to the OFF posi-tion. The immobilizer system acti-vates automatically. Without a validignition key for your vehicle, theengine will not start.This device complies with Part 15of the FCC rules. Operation is sub-ject to the following two conditions:1. This device may not cause harm-ful interference, and 2. This device must accept any inter-ference received, including inter-ference that may cause undesiredoperation.IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (IF EQUIPPED)CAUTION  The transponder in your ignitionkey is an important part of theimmobilizer system.
