2Recommendations and safety instructionsFor safety reasons, never put the handset in the base station without thebattery inserted or without the lid on the battery compartment as thiscould cause an electric shock.To avoid damaging your handset/base, only use certified rechargeablebatteries NiMH 1.2 V 750 mAh, never use non rechargeable batteries.Insert the batteries in the handset/base battery compartment respectingpolarity, do not dispose of batteries in fire, they may explode, if thehandset will not be used for an extended period of time, unplug thebattery and remove it from the handset to prevent possible leakage,keep batteries out of the reach of childrenOnly use the power unit supplied and connect it to the electricity mainsin accordance with the installation instructions in this user manual andthe details on the sticker regarding voltage, electrical current andfrequency. As a precaution if there is a risk of danger, the power plug canbe pulled out to disconnect the 120V power supply. Therefore thesockets should be near the device and easily accessible.Do not install your DECT telephone D680C in a damp environment, suchas a bathroom, washroom, kitchen etc, and not within 1.50 feet of asource of water or outside. This device is designed for use intemperatures of between 5 Celsius degree and 40 Celsius degree. Donot expose the product to extreme temperatures such as areas near ahot radiator, stove or in a hot car.In zones where there is a risk of frequent thunder storms, werecommend that you protect your telephone line using an electric  powersurge protection device.Avoid using the telephone during an electrical storm, there may be aremote risk of electric shock from lightning.Do not attempt to remove screws or open the appliance. The range can be affected by the proximity of metalobjects, such as a television and electrical devices.Areas without reception may appear due to elements in the building. Thiscan cause brief interruptions in the conversation, caused by faultytransmission.Certain medical equipment and highly-sensitive machines or securitysystems may be affected by the transmission power of the telephone. The icon display stops moving when the batteries are charged.
